Chapter 27: Toxic

I walked inside the house, and I heard quietness that was unfamiliar to me. But I expected to find Noah sleeping. But what I came across to seeing was plenty of empty broken beer bottles all in the kitchen. I felt anxiety take over me. I walked into the sitting room, seeing Noah sitting in our big armchair, and he had a beer bottle in his hand. And he didn't look sober to me. He looked angry. The look that scared me. The same look he had given me when he assumed of me cheating on him with Matt. Right after my yoga class and he choked me and threw me against my car. My back was bruised for a while. And here he is again looking very victorious and even scary in my eyes.
As I walked in, he took a long gulp from his beer. I was terrified to walk any further into the sitting room. And he just seemed so angry. And this angry side of him always seems to make me run. And I never could understand this side of him. And the worst part is he knew it. This isn't a game. This is something that I always try to hide from because it is the worst from him. Especially when he's drunk. In the kitchen there were broken glasses all over the floor. And here he is just sitting here in the dark with a beer bottle and I know he is awfully drunk just by the look at him.
I stepped on the yellow roses that were scattered on the sitting room floor as the vase was broken into pieces on the floor that I'm guessing Noah broke. And I hadn't been able to appreciate any of this. He got angry at me for taking Christopher home. But when he comes home he just destroyed our kitchen with broken glasses and a broken vase. I'm getting déjà vu. I'm guessing back when Christopher did this. But Christopher learned from his drunk side. He actually changed and doesn't hurt me. He did it one time and he never did it again. Not even tonight. But here is my boyfriend drunk in front of my eyes and he has this sadistic side to him right now and I don't feel quite good about it.
"Hey babe," I said, appreciated by seeing him and in which, he still remained the same and he looked very upset. "You look drunk. How about we go upstairs and I'll clean up this mess. Okay?"
And I actually thought he might agree but when I turned, I heard him outright say, "no."
His rejection to me actually surprised me. And when I saw him just staring back at me when I turned, I wanted to find out what exactly was going on. Is he just drunk? Or is he angry about the fact that I took Christopher home? Or is it something else that he's not telling me about? And I knew he was being very standoffish and very upset. And I'm not quite happy about any of this. His behavior could make me just walk out. But he was being very cold. And I have no idea what the hell is going on with him.
"Okay. I'll just go run us a bath." I said, but in which I swear I heard him bang his hand down on the coffee table.
"No. I want you to stay right here. And I want you to listen." He said, with a hot and very cruel sound in his voice. "Now I want you to sit down and shut up!" He got up and he pulled me by the arm very hard and he pushed me down onto the sofa, forcing me to sit down and possibly listen to what he'd have to say.
"Noah, I'm-"
"-did you not hear what I just fucking said? I SAID SHUT UP!" He spat at me loudly.
I listened to him, only because he was scaring me very badly that I wasn't even sure what to do. I was going to listen to him. He still had the bottle in his hand and I wasn't sure what he was going to say. Or what he was going to do. I was badly scared out of my mind. I was breathing softly but heavily inside. And I just was trying to figure out what he was going to say or do. But if this is about me taking Christopher home he literally has no reason to be upset because he left me at our party with another woman. Which he claims he didn't have sex with her. But still I worry that he did and he's lying to me about it. I left with my stepbrother to take him home because he was drunk.
