Chapter-22

Qiao once again walk to granny and see everyone smiling and working. She start thinking how her father tries to snatch their happiness from them but still they are smiling.

She does not want to be another reason for vanishing of their smile. Granny sees Qiao standing silently at some distance. Smiling she walk to Qiao and hand over basket to her.

Granny Wen, “Let’s go and pluck some flowers and leaves for Wen Qing”.

Qiao nod and walk with granny. Both of them reach garden. It is the same place where she was playing with Aa-Yuan earlier.

Qiao worried for him ask, “Granny where is A-Yuan?”

Granny, “She is playing with his ge-ge”.

Qiao, “Ge-ge?”

Granny, “You will learn about them with time”.

Granny told Qiao, which flowers and leave they need. Qiao nodding start lucking them. 

Qiao, “Granny why A-Qing need these flowers?”

Granny, “She need them to prepare medicine for everyone?”

Qiao, “A-Qing is doctor?”

Granny nod, “Yes she is”.

Qiao, “A-Ning told me about A-Qing being engaged to young master of Jiang”.

Granny smiling, “I am very happy for her. She deserve it. Both my children has also suffered a lot because of Wen Ruohan”.

Unknown to granny, guilt built inside Qiao heart. She ask granny what Wen Ruohan did to them.

Granny narrates him the whole incident on how Wen Ning lost some parts of his soul to that soul-bearing fairy when Wen Ruohan takes yin iron from her.

How she Wen Ruohan killed their family. Moreover, make both siblings his slave.

Granny, “But now everything is alright. She gets her happiness. Young master Jiang also loves her a lot; it is visible in his eyes. He cares so much for A-Qing and A-Ning”.

Qiao silently start plucking the flowers. Likewise, they spend whole day together.

Qiao get to know about the wrong deeds his father committed with everyone and pain everyone suffers.
Qiao walk back to her room and sleep thinking about her new family.

In middle of night, she wake up startled because of the nightmare. She start breathing heavily, sweat roll down her forehead thinking about her dream.

Granny Wen, A-Ning, A-Qing all of them were smiling and talking to each other but suddenly everything changes. She see all of them crying calling for Qiao to help them, save them from others.

Blood shed everywhere. They are crying asking for mercy but no one listen to them. They keep killing her. In that moment everything changes, their smile turns into tears.

Qiao ask herself, “What was that? Is it some kind of indication?”

Wanting to free her mind. She wears her shoes and walk out of the room to get some fresh air.

She mindlessly keep walking but suddenly stop on her tracks seeing fireflies. Smiling she extend her hand and one firefly sit on her palm. She remembers how she used to play with them with her mother.

“A-Niang thank you for everything”. As if the firefly hears the message, it flies away far from there.

Qiao walk in the direction it flies and reach near the pond. It is full of flowers and fireflies. She walk towards it and look at moon reflection in water.
