10. The second assignments

Mal pov:
Sean ran furiously when Skye left. Zed chased after him.
"Dude, are you crazy?! Of the whole group you are closest to her!"
"No you already do that!"
"How come?!"
"Oh you know that!"
"Otherwise I wouldn't ask!"
"Guys, cut it!" I shouted irritated.
But they ignored me completely.
"Like you don't see it!"
"What are you talking about Sean?!"
"That Skye doesn't want me because she'sin love with you!"
Everyone in the group was shocked (except me) and Zed looked like he was punched in the face.
"Skye... What?!"
At that point, his Z-band went from online to unstable.
"Zed!" Addison yelled, startled.
Everyone backed up.
"Zed, calm down..." Addison said quietly.
Zed lunged at Addison but I pushed her aside and Zed scratched my cheek, where Captain Hook did the same with his Hook.
I fell to the ground from the force Zed had put behind it and Harry knelt beside me.
Bonzo and Eliza tried to get Zed back.
"Mal? Are you okay?" Harry asked.
I wanted to answer but I couldn't... Bonzo held Zed so he wouldn't attack anyone and
Eliza walked over to me.
"Mal, take it easy okay? I'll come up with something..."
"For what?" Harry asked.
"Guess what! Zed was a zombie when he attacked her!"
I shot up and Harry looked at me in shock. "Mal?"
"I... will... never... never... become... a... zombie... Eliza!"
But I started shaking and Eliza pushed Harry away.
"Mal, look at me! Mal!?"
I felt so weird and everything became so different... But I fought it.
I wouldn't become a zombie! Evie threw a familiar bottle at Eliza. Wonder water of Tremaine. Eliza looked at me.
"Hopefully it works Mal..."

Zed pov:
I looked at Sean in shock.
"Skye... What?!"
At that point, my Z band went from online to unstable.
"Zed!" Addison yelled, startled.
Everyone backed up.
"Zed, calm down..." Addison said quietly.
I lunged at Addison but Mal pushed her aside and I ripped her cheek open.
She fell to the ground from the force I had put behind it and Harry knelt down next to her.
What had I done?! Eliza and Bonzo tried to get me back.
"Zed! Focus! You can get through it!"
Eliza then looked briefly at Mal.
"Oh shit!"
Bonzo grabbed my arms and Eliza walked over to Mal. I knew why. I'm a zombie and just as I attacked her...
Evie threw something at Eliza and he mumbled something.
"WROAR!" I growled. Everyone walked away from me and Bonzo. Just like Eliza and Mal.
I just attacked someone... My Z-band went from unstable to online again and Bonzo let me go again.
I looked at Mal and the others. Fine... Now everyone was afraid of me...
"I didn't want to..." I muttered.
Harry ran up to me furiously and put his hand on my throat.
"Now I get what Sean always meant!"
I nearly choked and Bonzo pushed Harry away.
"Zedska bandska!"
Harry looked furiously from me to Bonzo.
"This isn't over yet!" he sissed.
I shook my head and ran into the woods. I couldn't hurt anyone there...

After running for a while I sat against a tree. I almost attacked Addison but I attacked Mal.
I just attacked someone! I had really lost control... I crossed my arms on my knees and dropped my head on them.
"Sean was right... I'm a monster..."
"The green-haired boy."
I looked up startled.
"You!"
"Yeah, me. So you've got no one left, huh? Skye Hart thinks so too. But I thought she was on her way back. Back to you."
"Why should she? Sean hates her. She's not herself anymore. And I just attacked the only one who knew about Skye's secret..."
"Oh really?"
"Piss off!"
"I can still kill you."
"Then do it! I can't do anything right and I'm a danger to the others!"
"If you want to die, I will kill you. Not."
"What a surprise..."
"Maybe you should find Skye Hart. The new assignments will be delivered soon."
"Are my those stupid assignments interested!"
"Anyone who does not complete his or her assignment dies."
"Wait, what?!"
But that guy disappeared. I got up and looked around.
"F*ck...Which way was the others?" I muttered.

Skye pov:
I flew towards the others but noticed that the other ghost was close again.
"Zed!" I said in shock when I saw that ghost was with him.
When I got almost there, the ghost disappeared and Zed got up quickly.
"F*ck...Which way was the others?" he muttered.
I kept my distance for a while. Why was he here in the woods?
I sighed.
"What are you doing here, Zed?"
He looked my way and sighed.
"Just heard there are new assignments coming and if we don't complete them we will die."
"But why are you here in the woods?"
"Because I did something stupid."
"What then?"
"I got into a fight with Sean and..."
Zed told me what had happened and I suddenly felt uneasy.
I was in love with a zombie who attacked someone and he knew it.
"Skye?"
"Yes?"
"Is it true?"
"What?"
"That you're really in love with me?"
I was silent and closed my eyes for a few seconds.
"Skye?" Zed asked again.
"What do you think?"
"I don't know."
"I even kissed you on day 1!"
"So it's true."
"Yeah..."
I looked away and he sighed.
"Skye?"
"Yes I know."
"Know what?"
"That you're still with Addison and I don't want to break that." "I didn't mean to say that."
"Huh?"
I looked at him in surprise.
"What were you going to say, Zed?"
"I had some suspicious when you saved my life."
"Oh..."
"What?"
"It may sound stupid but I want you to be honest now. You want to stay with Addison or not?"
Why did I ask that?!
I looked away again but Zed turned my head back with his hand on my chin.
And before I knew it he was kissing me. On my lips!
