Recap:

“Now Doctor Webber I know I shouldn’t be defending the kid here but why is this man here?” one of the nurses spoke up before the doc could blow a blood vessel all the while pointing at scary guy who had regained some of his composure and has attempted to  stand back up.

Both nurses inched over towards them looking wearily at him seemingly sensing the same thing I had. This guy is scary but overall dangerous.

Clearing his throat he said “No need to worry gentleman I’m Agent Scott” he said while flashing a badge I had noticed before, apparently Lucienne hadn’t either because her grin had been wiped off now displaying a shocked expression “I’m Lucienne and Zoeys new legal guardian”

CHAPTER 3

LUCIENNE’S POV

To say I was angry was an understatement, in fact I was beyond pissed, who the hell those this guy think he is? You would expect after the guy got kicked in the jewels, lowering his possibilities of ever having kids again, would make him get a clue but nooooo, he just had to go ahead and continue with his bat-shit crazy plan.

Determined to beat the crap out of him again to see if that could help him get the message, I started in his direction only to be stopped by a shaky looking Zoey. Now that I could finally take a closer look at her I noticed how pail she was. Her golden blond hair was in a messy knot on the top of her head while her almond colored eyes were kept trained on Agent Scott.

In the meantime, all the men had started arguing; Doctor Webber insisted I should be escorted back to my room, both the nurses were arguing about what to do with Agent Scott’s break in to security, and the agent in question was adamant that he was our legal guardian and that they should just check his papers. I couldn’t help but smile at that last part, for an operative, Agent Scott was definitely losing his cool. That and the fact that I actually made some damage with my little stunt just proved my theory that this guy was an amateur, and that that scar of his was just for show or something he received very early in his career.

Turning my attention back to Zoey I gave her a what the f look, I mean come on, didn’t she want to see me kick his ass in to the next dimension?

But she just kept looking at Agent Scott, and in her gaze were both fear and, recognition? What the…..

“Lucienne I just want you to know that I’m so sorry this happened and that this may be all my fault” Zoey sobbed. Instantly I knew she wasn’t apologizing for the adults that were at each other’s throats right now.

“Honey, it wasn’t your fault, how could it be? If you want to blame someone all fingers would be pointing at me. I was the one that distracted dad when I made Ian scream, just because you were in the middle of us doesn’t make you guilty, in fact we could just blame the truck driver and call it a day ” Although the part of the truck driver was meant to lighten the mood, I meant all the rest. I knew it was all my rotten fault. But I wasn’t going to let the guilt eat me up just yet. First, I had to make sure we were both ok and in Grandma Lucy’s capable hands and then the guilt party could begin.

I had thought my words would ease her conscience but it only made the water works that had been threatening to spill everywhere commence.

“Oh my God, how can you say that?”

“What? The part of the truck driver? You know I was kidding, it was an accident”

“No! It’s MY fault, I knew we would crash and I didn’t say anything, and the only reason we survived was because I think were not entirely human” she stage whispered the last part.
