Recap:

“I was helping a very big cat give birth.” Lucienne seemed to consider her words and managed a joyful expression even in her state.

“Was it a wildcat?” She whispered, her expression excited at the prospect.

“No, sorry.” Lucienne frowned.

“Next time make it a wildcat.” And she was fast asleep again.

Nathaniel couldn’t believe his eyes. After they had finished the monster sized lasagna Lucienne had made, Lucienne asked him if he would like to watch a movie or something while they had their ice cream. He asked her what series she had, instead of responding she opened up a cabinet next to the TV set with every movie or series you could think of.

Disney movies, superhero movies, chick flicks, mysteries, she had everything. It was like a Netflix in a box. But Nathaniel wasn’t the kind of person that decided on something to quickly (most of the time), he liked to see all of his options and cross reference everything out.

After a couple of minutes of this, Lucienne got fed up and made her own selection. And that was how they ended up with the two pints of ice cream and two massive bowls of popcorn watching High School Musical.

Nathaniel didn’t really mind, he hadn’t seen the second movie, and he had always been fascinated with American television.

Halfway thru the first movie he dropped a massive scoop of chocolate chip mint ice cream on his jeans. Lucienne noticed but instead of making fun of him she merely paused the movie, went in to her bedroom and came out with a pair of dark blue boy’s pajama bottoms.

Before he could protest, or wonder why a girl owned any men’s clothes, she directed him to the bathroom with instructions on how to work the washer and drier. After he came out of the bathroom he nestled himself in to his spot on the couch.

Lucienne had abandoned any attempt at formalities and had sprawled herself on almost half the couch with a bunch of pillows and blankets. She passed him a couple of pillows and a blanket and hit play.

Not seeing any harm in it, Nathaniel mimicked her actions. That left them both occupying most of the couch in a nest of junk food and snugness.

At some point in between Zac Efron’s and Corbin Blue’s ‘The boys are back’ Nathaniel started nodding off. He was fast asleep before he could see the Wildcats’ graduation musical number.

“Nate… Nate… Nate... Wake up mate it’s time to leave.” Nathaniel swatted at the annoying voice that was threatening to pull him out of sleep. The voice groaned and lifted him up, slinging his arm over its neck. Nathaniel opened his eyes half-way, not thoroughly woken up yet, and managed to lift his head up just enough to recognize who the annoying voice belonged to.

Seeing as he wasn’t in any immediate danger he allowed himself to be dragged out of the dorm without taking much notice of his surroundings, not even when Louka slipped on his coat and shoes.

In his half-conscious state he didn’t even seem bothered that at some point in between their trek from the couch to the door he glimpsed a floating body with familiar mismatched socks peeking out of a bunch of blankets.

The cold from the outside finally woke him all of the way up but his brain didn’t really catch up on the nights events until they reached the boys dormitory.
