Before The Storm..

Chapter 18

Recap:

“Not a problem, she’ll be good as new by tomorrow morning at the latest.” Zoey couldn’t hide the shock he felt at his words. “What? You thought you were the only one with healing powers?” He teased making Zoey blush.

“So are you free Wednesday night?” He smiled hopefully and he looked so sweet that Zoey couldn’t possibly say no to him so she nodded finding her throat oddly clogged.

“Cool, well see you later.” Louka gave her one last dimpled smile before leaving. Zoey sighed and made herself comfortable, her brain wary from all of the days excitement, she never would have expected being a spell caster would be like this.

To say that Lucienne was pissed was an understatement. It had al started at the school’s SS division infirmary. The nurses gave her awed looks; girls in her dorm got all wide eyed when she and Zoey passed them in the hall last night, now every damned body in the school was whispering about them both. Imagine typical new girls fever but multiplied by ten, Lucienne was starting to think being a spell caster wasn’t such a good thing after all, not if you were the gossip of everyone.

“God, I know I’m beautiful people, deal!” Lucienne huffed, clearly boiling over her breaking point. Both Hammer twins smirked in unison, clearly amused at her antiques; all day they had stuck with the girls like hot glue and it seemed they were there to stay, a fact that Brain didn’t find amusing when he found them at their lunch table, fortified by the face he made when Joshua tried kissing Lucienne’s cheek, needless to say Joshua got a punch in the gut, something that lessened Brains annoyance, but only a little.

He still couldn’t believe both girls had risked their lives to save one of the Hammer twins, he was even more surprised to find out that thanks to that incident the girls ability had leaked out, something he seemed to have preferred to have kept to himself.

“Luce calm down, they will only stare more if you throw a hissy fit.” Zoey replied soothingly. She too was annoyed at all of the stares but she knew there was nothing she could do to stop it.

Lucienne merely started grumbling making the twins laugh as they arrived at their green Heavy-Duty Jeep. They all climbed in; Jason on the wheel with Lucienne up front with him and Zoey and Joshua in back as Brain had already left to his car. Jason drove carefully in between the forest that connected the high school building with the SS Division building.

“It’s just a faze sweet cheeks, after a week they’ll find something else to gossip about and you two being bearers of an ability everyone though extinct will only be a distant memory.” Joshua piped in. Since he was too far away Lucienne used her powers to control his hand and made him slap himself.

“What the…?” Joshua cut off his question when he realized what happened and he caught the eye of a mischievous spell caster thru the rear view mirror.

“Your sarcasm isn’t appreciated.”  Lucienne taunted while sticking out her tongue and jumping out of the jeep, as they had already arrived to the subterranean parking lot under the SS building.

“I think you just got owned brother.” Joshua started muttering and rubbing his injured cheek as the rest laughed at his expression. They mounted the elevator which took them to the building first floor. Over the ride Joshua seemed to brighten up a bit.

“Weapons, my favorite class.”
