Recap:

Jason blew through his targets with ease, every beast he faced uglier than the last. With each new attack Zoey had turned in to a ball of nerves while Lucienne watched stoically besides a grinning Joshua. It took about 20 minutes before Jason was down to his last target when he encountered a pack of rogue robots that cornered him in to a dead end of the maze, he was so concentrated in fighting them off that he didn’t notice when his comms unit stopped working, so no one could tell him about the humanoid beast that had taken over one of the abandoned semi-trucks….

………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

“Damn it’s a Level 13 beast.” Joshua muttered as the controls room was thrown in to chaos, Mildred was up in arms, trying to figure out why the communicators weren’t working but as soon as Joshua spoke understanding flashed over her face and she stopped trying to fix it. “Those bastards can knock out any communications between the field and us as well as using the other targets as his personal minions. This will be a tuff one.” Joshua muttered more to himself than anything else but still Lucienne and Zoey were able to catch his words, words that only made Zoey that more nervous. In that exact moment the beast revved the engine and more rogue robots appeared but these carried sharp pointed knives with a jewel like green coating. Jason was oblivious to the beast antiques being much more focused on the dozen more opponents he had to face.

“Mildred open these damn doors.” Joshua roared as he banged on the elevators doors, trying to go to his twin.

“The system won’t open the transporter until the challenge is complete, I can’t override its commands.” Mildred cried exasperation clear in her voice as she typed away in to the system, trying to find Jason a way out.

Lucienne went over to Joshua taking him in to her arms so he wouldn’t hurt himself even more trying to open the doors, and that was when it happened. In a split second the maze’s walls shifted giving the beast a clear path to run Jason over, a fact that didn’t go missed by Zoey and everyone else in the room as they all held their breaths simultaneously, or at least the majority of them.

“NO!!!!!” Zoey screamed desperately. Almost instantly two electric yellow circles appeared, one beneath her feet and the other above her head. Both had archaic runes written in them and a bunch of symbols, the dominant symbol was the astronomic symbol for the sun. In less than a blink of an eye both circles closed in on her making her disappear for an instant. Lucienne glanced at the map on the screen already catching on to where she may be.

Her theory was proven right when she watched another green light come to life in the screen…

Jason felt more than heard Zoey’s scream, but that couldn’t be, she was safely in the controls room, away from the robot assassins on his ass. But still, dread crawled up his back and as he turned around he watched as Zoey materialized right before his eyes. His distraction cost him as the last of the rogue robots slashed at his leg, opening up a deep wound that sizzled with that green coating its knife held. Before it could finish the job and deliver its last poison coated slash Zoey flicked her hand at it and the bot was torn apart right before Jason’s eyes.

“Jason, the truck!” Zoey screamed as she crashed in to his arms, effectively making him lose his balance and taking Zoey down with him. Not even a second later he felt a truck whiz over them as he covered Zoey with his body, the tires almost succeeding in crushing them both. Without losing a heartbeat Jason slammed his fists on the concrete floor and dozens of cement spikes burst from it neutralizing the truck before it could take another shot at mowing them down, and putting his last target out of commission, for now at least.
