"I told you already to stop standing next to me as I'm trying to read. You stink; go take a bath."

Byakuya watches as Toko mutters something about him showing 'so much concern for her hygiene' as she staggers happily out of the library. Even after knowing her for a while now he still had no idea what her deal was. Her behavior, while annoying at times, was a complete mystery to him. But with her gone, he could finally get back to his book.

"So Byakuya, when are you going to lower your pride and admit you can like someone who isn't yourself?"

Byakuya's expression turns into a frown as his attention is taken away from his book once more. By a nearby shelf he saw Kyoko taking a book from the many to choose from, skimming the cover and back description. Even without glancing at him, Byakuya could tell she was addressing him with that comment. After all, no one else was in the library.

"What could you possibly mean by such a statement? Do you dare try to tell me what to do?" Byakuya commented, keeping his gaze on Kyoko as she placed the book back on the shelf. Seems she wasn't interested in the book she had taken out.

"I'm not telling you to do anything; I know that even if I did you would simply ignore my demands." Kyoko stated, glancing towards Byakuya. "I simply wonder how long you're going to keep Toko in suspense. You may not think you let the signs show, but even you aren't perfect."

Byakuya could feel a twinge of irritation from those words. Who was Kyoko to say he wasn't perfect? Of course he's perfect; he's Byakuya Togami! Someone beneath him has no right to call him out with such weak accusations.

"Look, I know you want to imagine yourself as some emotionless being, but at the end of the day we're all human. You can run as much as you want, but recognizing the feelings sooner rather than later will benefit not only you, but Toko as well."

Byakuya's frustration only grew with Kyoko's statements. Not because she was wrong, but because she was right. In the beginning he had truly found Toko to be repulsive. She clearly didn't bathe, and seemed to have no confidence of which to lean upon when someone belittled her. Not to mention the second personality of hers could be quite troublesome.

However, over time Byakuya came to see Toko's positive qualities. Yes, it's shocking to hear that he can find positive things in other people. Noticing those positives was only the first step into developing a crush on Toko. And as odd as he found it, he also found interest in Toko's second personality. A two-for-one package deal you could say.

But he could never say anything. He's Byakuya Togami for crying out loud! How could he be with anyone less than perfect? Not to mention the backlash he could see himself getting for rejecting Toko so many times to just accept those feelings out of nowhere! He's above her, he's-

"Well, it's your choice regarding what you do. Just remember that Toko may move on if someone better comes along who's willing to hear her feelings out."

With that statement Kyoko exited the library, the soft sound of the door closing being all the sound in the library. Byakuya looked at the door in silence even after Kyoko was far gone at that point, contemplating what she had said. Was he actually going to take advice from someone like her? Someone who isn't even close to the same level as him, the great Byakuya Togami?
