This was requested by YurioMyLove11  I'm sorry for taking so long to get to it; hopefully it will be work it. Also, I must mention this does include suicidal/self-harm topics, so if you are triggered by such, I advise you to skip this one-shot. And remember, if you are feeling depressed and possibly suicidal, there is help available.

When it comes to Makoto, you'd figure he'd date someone cheerful and positive like himself. With such positive energy, it's hard for people to believe that his girlfriend wasn't the most cheerful person.

In fact, (Name) wasn't a positive person at all. She would make self-degrading comments often, expect things to fail, and simply wore a frown more often than a smile.

Despite this, Makoto loved (Name). When it came to her negativity, he simply wanted to help her be more positive. He'd tell her how amazing she was, how things would turn out better if you believed they'd succeed, and crack whatever joke or pun he could to bring out her beautiful smile.

In many ways you were total opposites, and yet you two made it work beautifully. It was a match made in heaven sort of scenario. You helped Makoto to be a bit more realistic, and he brought his shining positivity into your life.

Unfortunately, things aren't as easy as people would like them to be. Negativity isn't something you can just will away, and it can take over your life if you aren't careful.

(Name) had begun to cut on a regular basis. It had been going on for so long that she didn't even remember when she started, or even why she was still doing this. It had come to a point that she had become addicted to the painful feeling; because it was one of the rare times she felt anything.

One evening Makoto had come to your place for a movie night, having bought a pizza and brought it with him. You made sure to thank him for the food as you set up the movie. Unfortunately Makoto had showed up a tad bit early, leaving you in a hazardous state to clean up your arms from your most recent cutting session. But luckily your nearby long-sleeved shirt came to your rescue.

You and Makoto enjoyed the pizza as the movie played, the plot not really processing in your brain. You worried Makoto would notice the cuts, or even catch onto the slightest scent of the blood on your sleeves.

However, it wasn't long before you had fallen fast asleep, cuddled up to Makoto. Your sleep schedule had been a mess recently, despite what you had told your loving boyfriend. He probably found it quite odd for you to fall asleep so early in the evening.

Makoto was going to take you to your room so you could rest without straining any muscles, when he noticed the slightest hint of liquid on your sleeves. Figuring you had just spilled your drink without realizing it, he lifted the sleeve to take the sweater off. He had seen the hem of a shirt underneath so he knew you'd still be decent.

However, when he saw the blood on your arms he instantly stopped, his heart seeming to stop for a moment. These were fresh wounds, the blood slightly wet; it probably wasn't able to dry with the sweater moving back and forth on the skin.

And there were so many cuts... Makoto couldn't seem to understand why you would do this to yourself. He was quick to remove the sweater, setting it aside before he headed to the kitchen to grab the medical supplies you kept in there. He would be sure to talk to you about these cuts, but he wanted to ensure they were cleaned up first.

He used a slightly-damp towel to wipe away the blood and just clean up your arm in general before applying the bandages which already had some neosporin prepared on them. The slight sting of the neosporin on your cuts managed to wake you up, wincing slightly at the light that wasn't on when you had fallen asleep.

"Makoto, what's going on...?" You questioned, still sleepy and a bit out of it.

However, when you noticed how your sweater was off, in addition to your arms being bandaged up, you began to panic. Makoto seemed to notice this, because he quickly brought you in for a hug, his grip gentle yet firm.

"(Name), why didn't you tell me you were feeling so depressed? I-I got scared when I saw all the cuts on your arm."

Before long you found yourself crying in Makoto's arms, allowing all the emotions you had held back out. Makoto was there the entire time, being sure to offer his comfort while being gentle on your arms.

"I'm sorry, I just... I don't know Makoto. Whenever I'm not feeling depressed I feel nothing. I... I want to feel happy..."

Makoto listened as you explained your worries, concerns, anything you wanted to say really. He acknowledged everything you put out.

"I know that not everyone can be as positive as myself... But I don't want to see you be so depressed either. I want you to be happy as well. Please (Name), please let me help you."

Makoto had gently taken your hand in his, giving it a reassuring squeeze. He didn't expect you to change quickly, but he did want you to know that you were there for him.

"Okay Makoto... I trust you."

Soon enough you found yourself being comforted in Makoto's arms, snuggled up to him as he gave you reassuring words and comforting gestures. He simply wanted you to know that you were safe and that he wasn't leaving. Even after you had fallen asleep he didn't let go. The fact is if you had been just a tad bit more reckless you could've easily died if you cut an artery or a simple death by blood loss. He wasn't going to let go of you anytime soon.

"Don't worry (Name), I'm going to help you get through this. I'll do everything in my power to ensure you can one day smile with ease..."
