*Coruscant, 22 BBY*
Coruscant smelled of pollution and metal. My brothers and I stood beside the General in front of the Senate building. That same Nautolan, the General's old master, emerged from behind us.
"BOO!" He cackled after Crack-Up jumped backward. "I see your assignment went well." He clasped General Vann's shoulder. "Hello, men!"
"Hello, Sir!" Kittyhawk replied. Kit smiled wildly in return.
"I like this one." He murmured to the General.
*Switch POV because that chapter was smaller than my self-esteem*
30 minutes later, we were all separated. All off to complete their Coruscant bucket list. I meditated in my quarters in the Jedi temple. Traffic breezed past in orderly lines. As I dove into my mediation, I felt my connection to the crystal in my lightsaber, to Master Fisto, to my family.
My family. I haven't seen my family in almost a year. I'm allowed to visit them when time permits, but it hasn't lately. And it still won't. But I have a feeling I need to visit. I miss my home planet and my family. Maybe I could take a 'recon' of some sort. I slowly returned to reality, taking deep breaths. I uncrossed my legs and went to find Master Fisto.
*Back to Spitfire, sorry if this was confusing*
Coruscant was slightly unnerving. So many people and lights and sound and movement to take in all at once. Luckily, I was over it in a few minutes. I soon had enough paint for the whole Runaway force. I looked up from my datapad...and then realized I was lost. It all looked the same. I headed toward a taxi, but my comlink chimed. It was the General.
"Commander?"
"Yes Sir?"
"I need you at the Jedi Temple, ASAP." Her voice sounded strained.
"Yes Sir, right away Sir. I may warn you though, I am terribly lost."
"Lost?" A sigh.
"Yes, unfortunately, sir."
"I'll come to get you."
The General knew exactly where I was, and I didn't even tell her. It freaked me out a bit. Once we got to the temple, the General explained her situation.
"So we need to stage a fake recon, so you can see your family?" It was against all codes and orders and the book.
"Yes." The General's dark brown eyes pleaded. I mulled over it. I was about to explain why it was a terrible idea, but then I thought. What would it be like if I hadn't seen my brothers in a year? I couldn't do it.
"I'll do it, General Vann."
"Call me Detta." She smiled lightly.
