Detta dressed in the same outfit, but curled the cape closer.

"You seem closed off...are you sure you're ok?"

"Yes, I just feel so cold. It's what the Dark side feels like."

"Oh." I chewed on the inside of my lip.

"It-it's whatever, though. Everything's fine." She shrugged on the cape all the way and motioned for me to pull up my mask. She opened the door and called for someone to take her to Queen Briar's chambers. The same guard skittered down the hallway.

"Please, follow me." He told us. We complied, following him, again, through many hallways. We must have walked for 15 minutes in pure silence and under beautiful architecture. We finally came upon a massive room with vaulted ceilings and huge windows. Light filtered into the room, igniting the gentle yellow and brown hues of the paint.

"Leave them there. You are dismissed." Queen Briar shouted at the guard, waving a clawed hand. "In here!" She called for us. Detta and I followed her voice into a MASSIVE closet. Detta's eyes widened."What? A girl's gotta dress!" The Queen danced around us cheerfully.

"I suppose-" Detta remarked. She's worn the same thing for as long as I had known her until this moment and time.

"So. You need a dress." The Queen swept Detta into her arms, whisking her to see the rows and rows of dresses. They were all color-coordinated. "Gray would be my choice for you, but black looks so ravishing on you!" Detta blushed.

"Thank you."

"Or maybe a tan with blue accents. What do you think, slave?" The Queen turned her head to me. Fear surged through me as I realized she was looking for an answer. Detta frantically whipped her head to look at me.

"My slaves are sworn to silence, and keep their identity a secret. It is mandatory."

"Ah, I see." The queen picked up a black dress. "Though, yours are very handsome."

"Thank you! I agree." I felt the heat rise to my cheeks as Detta made that comment. Thank the maker no one could see it.

"I know that my dresses will not fit you, for I am a bit larger than you." The Queen motioned to her slightly pudgy figure. "But I'm gorgeous and no one can tell me otherwise." She smiled wildly and winked at Detta. "So, I have a tailor on hand, ready to take it in."

"Sounds great!" Detta smiled genuinely at her.

"Let's get a move on!" The Queen draped many dresses over her arm. I sighed. We might be here a while.
