Rea's pov
Vol.2:It's been a week. A week and they still hadn't found her. Their only guess was that she went to back to the human world, and even though they were there already, they still couldn't find her easily.
It was no doubt that the change in the air could be felt, but it most certainly could be felt a week before... There was a change in the balance as Vlad and Apollo would tell her, and although she would keep asking what they meant, they didn't have the time to give her a straight answer, or they just did not want to explain it to her, Rea had no idea...but Rea didn't need the obvious danger looming about to be explained to her, human or not, everyone could feel it...and so did she...
Ra had been reborn
Rea just knew it, and to say she was scared would be an understatement. She didn't know whether she should be worried for herself, her sister, or the world. It was even worse to know that it was her sister who had brought this ticking time bomb into the world.
"We have to find her and kill that thing," Apollo said seriously.
Vlad on the other hand looked calm... It was almost as if he did not even care about what was happening, but Rea knew better. Although the Prince looked emotionless and carefree, Rea knew the wheels in his head were currently turning as he tried to think of a solution.
"I don't even know what to say," Hermes started with a sigh. "Does your sister even know that everyone can feel the change in the energies? Including Sethos and Cepos. I reckon they're searching for their child already before we can kill it. We, on the other hand, have no leads on this. We're practically just be sitting ducks."
Rea felt tears gathering in her eyes as she clenched her hands into fists, trying to be strong. To be honest, Rea was completely shattered, she did not know what to do, she was so confused...
"We should probably check the hospitals," Vlad suddenly said, everyone turning to look at him.
"We've already done that," Hermes said.
"No. I mean the hospital records. Its just been a week, she couldn't have gotten accommodation so quickly," Vlad replied, burying his hands in the pockets of his trousers.
"That actually sounds reasonable," Apollo said, rubbing his fingers along his clean shaven jaw while he contemplated the possibilities of any loopholes, a habit Rea had noticed he had.
"Then let's do it. I'll travel around the hospitals with Apollo, and you two can search for her anywhere else," Hermes stated, referring to Rea and Vlad.
"Okay," Rea said, the first thing she had said throughout the entire conversation... The realisation didn't make Rea feel any less insignificant.
Apollo walked over to stand next to Hermes who stretched out a hand, a staff appearing in it. He stumped it on the ground once before smiling and turning to Apollo. "Ready?"
Apollo sighed and nodded. Hermes, on the other hand looked at him expectantly. Apollo rolled his eyes and placed his hand on his half brother's shoulder which made Hermes smile to widen into a full on grin.
It didn't take long before the two brothers disappeared into thin air.
"We should probably start searching as well."
"Yes. Abby escaped through the elevator, maybe if we go to the main floor of the company, we can gain useful information..."
"We have no other options," Vlad said, shrugging.
With no more words said, Vlad and Rea walked towards the grand doors of the company they had come out of a while ago. Passing through it, Rea led the way as they approached the receptionist.
"Excuse me."
The woman who had her brown hair packed in a tight, neat bun looked up at Rea through her square shaped glasses.
"Yes? How may I help you?" Although the woman's words sounded polite, her face looked anything but. Rea couldn't help but feel as though she was bothering the middle aged lady.
"Erm... Please, have you seen a pregnant lady get off of this elevator...about a week ago?"
The woman's eyebrows furrowed and her mouth morphed into a frown. Rea could see the confusion on the woman's face. "Yes..."
"Um. Please can you give us more information?"
"Do the both of you share any kind of relationship?"
"Yes. She's my sister...twin sister..."
The woman stared at Rea for a long time which made her uncomfortable.
"Twins?"
Now Rea was the one who furrowed her brows in confusion, turning to look at Vlad who had no expressions on his face before turning to look at the lady again. "Yes..."
"Fraternal twins?"
"What are you talking about? I'm a carbon copy of her."
The woman sighed and pushed up her glasses that had slid down to the bridge of her nose before turning to sort out the files she had been sorting out before Rea had interrupted her while muttering in an uncaring manner, "Sorry, you've got the wrong girl."
"N-no. It has to be her. Don't you have eyes?!"
The woman looked up at Rea with a blank expression, "I do, as you can see... Now what I'm wondering is if you have eyes... Any one who saw that lady that day and then you today wouldn't even consider the two of you being related."
"But..."
"I'm sorry, but I have a lot of work to do. If that will be all, then feel free to leave. Thank you."
Rea stared at the woman a while longer, blinking as she tried to process the information she had just received, but she still found it hard to wrap her head around it.
What the fuck is happening?
