Abigail's pov

Abby couldn't breathe as she ran down the hallways like a tornado and into the bathroom. Once she was in, she ran into a stall as quickly. Fast enough to lean over the toilet just as her breakfast and probably her kidney came gushing out of her mouth. Hot tears slithered down her cheeks as she wretched till there was nothing more. Feeling weak, she could only manage to flush the toilet before she fell to a heap on the floor. Leaning her head limply against the wall, she couldn't help but think about how awful the day had been... She found out that Jacobi didn't like her, she was almost raped by her teacher, she found out that Rea was sleeping with Mr. Montgomery and she still had to tutor Trent...

When was all this madness going to end?

She was scared half to death by Mr. Montgomery today...

Gathering her strength, she pushed herself out of the stall, teetering on unsteady feet and heading to the sink. She splashed water over her face in order to cool down it's temperature, then proceeded to rinse her mouth. Looking into the mirror at the destroyed remainder of her makeup, she wiped it with a paper napkin. Whilst buttoning up her shirt that was halfway open, the swells of her boobs on full display,  Abby was shocked to see the bruises forming all over her cheek, and neck. She also had a major headache from the tugging of her hair. Digging through her shirt pocket, she pulled out some mint and threw it into her mouth, and that was when the reality of everything came crashing in.

She heard the bell ring, but ignored it, deciding to stay in the bathroom and keep up with her crying session. She knew that she shouldn't mess up Rea's grades, but she couldn't also let people wonder why Rea had a messed up face. She couldn't possibly explain to everyone how she was almost raped by a Chemistry teacher.

So, she called in sick and went home, hiding her face from everyone and ignoring everyone who tried to talk to her.

She got dropped off at her home by the school bus and walked out to go up to the room she shared with her twin and go to bed.

Rea's pov

Rea walked through the hallway to get to her Chemistry class that she shared with Jacobi Bryant who was acting really weird that day. Whenever she waved at him, he would ignore her.

When did that happen?

She didn't know, but she wasn't Abby so it didn't hurt as much. He was nothing but a friend to her... She walked into the classroom to sit in Abby's seat that was right next to Jacobi' who was already on his. His eyes widened the second he saw her and he hurried to pack up his things.

"Jacobi, why are you avoiding me?" She finally asked, irritated at his childish behavior. He was about to walk away when she reached out and grabbed his hand.

"Answer. Me," she said firmly, and he turned around with a big sigh.

"Fine! You caught me. Can you let go now?" Rea let go of his hand after a long line of thought on the consequences. She furrowed her brows, expecting a reasonable explanation from her friend. He was about to speak, but stopped, ran his hand through his hair before pulling her out of the classroom.

"Where are we going?..." Jacobi didn't answer Rea and she began to get worried when they moved towards the West Wing of the school.

"Are you taking me to the West Wing? You do know it's highly prohibited to go there, right?" Jacobi nodded his head before running his hand through his hair again.

"I know. There's just something I need to tell you..." Rea was excited for her sister at that.

Was Jacobi finally going to confess his love for Abby?

Rea grinned at this and allowed Jacobi to drag her into the West Wing of the school building.

"Well?" She asked him when he wouldn't stop pacing around and running his hands through his hair. He turned around to look at her, a sad expression gracing his face.

"Look, Abigail, I know you like me." Rea frowned, not expecting such a start and Jacobi ran his hands through his hair again before taking in deep breaths.

"You do?" Rea asked in a small voice, playing along.

"Yes. It was kind of obvious and I'm sorry I didn't tell you this sooner, but..."

Here it comes!

"I don't like you like...that..." Rea's face fell in disappointment; Jacobi noticed and quickly rephrased.

"I mean, you are very beautiful, brave and smart, but I...like another girl, and I was hoping we could keep that all behind us and just be friends?" Rea was sure that it didn't mean to be a question but she didn't bother with that as her thoughts drifted to how thankful she was that it was her who took the news and not her sister. Tears filled her eyes at how heartbroken her sister would be upon hearing this...

"Shit! I'm sorry, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to make you cry!" Jacobi exclaimed once he noticed her tears and mistook it for her crying from heartbreak. He wasn't wrong though, Rea's heart broke upon hearing that her sister's heart could have been broken as well if they didn't agree to that bet...

Rea nodded solemnly, "I understand." She didn't look up to meet Jacobi's eyes but knew that he was happy that she understood him and the fact that he didn't mean to make her cry.

"On the bright side, you could be happy for your sister..." Rea's head whipped up to meet Jacobi's happy eyes and cute smile.

"What?" He nodded with a wide grin on his face and her eyes went wide at his next words.

"I kinda wanted to ask your sister out this morning but she freaked and started avoiding me ever since first period; I just found out that she was sick and went home." Rea's eyes widened at that.

It was too much information for her: her sister was sick? Jacobi liked her?!

She shook her head, not able to process all of the information she was receiving, but Jacobi mistook her actions for something else and continued with, "Yeah, I thought you'd know what happened...Didn't she call you?"

Rea shook her head again, unable to process all this...

Abby didn't look sick this morning, why now?

It was strange but something told her that sickness wasn't the case; something told her her sister knew something...

"Are you okay? You don't look too good." Rea nodded with a tight smile on her face as she looked up at Jacobi's worried face: he smiled back but Rea could tell it wasn't a genuine one.

"Okay, now that's out, I guess we should head back to class?" Rea nodded at Jacobi's words.

"Y-Yeah, we should." She replied, stumbling over her words due to the shock of it all.

What happened?

Was the question she found herself asking.
