Beginning of Book 2

Abigail's pov

Abby turned in her bed. She sat up, her head was pounding, her eyes widened at the awful dream she had. She ran her hands through her hair with a sigh. She was shocked to find that she didn't hear Rea's snoring. She turned around to look in the direction her bed should be but instead, only found a wall.

That was weird. Rea should be in the room like always. Abby looked around to find that the room was nothing like what she shared with Rea.

How was this possible?

She chuckled at her worry for no reason before rubbing  her temples slowly and cautiously in little circular motions that soothed her.

"It's okay, Abby. It's just a dream, okay? Wake up." She took in a calming breath, believing she had woken up with a smile but the room remained the same.

She frowned before inhaling harshly. Beginning to feel antsy, she pinched herself, but the pain didn't seem to change the strange scenery she saw instead of the familiar room she shared with her twin sister. She frowned once more. What if her dream wasn't a dream? What if she had really been kidnapped by her sister's demonized boyfriend?!

Abby jumped up from the bed and looked around herself cautiously. She wasn't in her room in anyway. She seemed to be laying on a queen sized bed and that disturbed her very much.

She ran over to the mirror in the room and inspected her face for confirmation. It turned out that what she had been looking for was there. Sitting on her cheek proudly was the bruise that had formed on her cheek from when Sean had slapped her. Tears filled her eyes immediately and she dropped to the floor.

Was she really mistaken for her sister once again?
Did it really get her into this mess?
Did her sister really betray her?

Abby couldn't handle all the information that had clouded her mind. She wrapped her hands around her knees tightly when she heard the sound of the door being unlocked from the outside. She turned around to meet the eyes of an unfamiliar girl who looked about sixteen. She had deep brown eyes and long brown hair, her face showed no emotion as she bowed to Abigail, refusing to let her lock eyes with her. Abby took the first chance she got and ran towards the petite girl, she held the hand of the girl without thinking and the girl's widened eyes met hers.

"Please, can you tell me where I am?" The girl furrowed her brows in confusion.

"You are in Egypt, ." Abby's eyes widened. Sean brought her to Egypt?!

"H-How did I get here? I don't even remember..." The girl looked confused at Abby's questions.

"I don't know how you were brought here, but I believe it was by the only portal in Egypt that only the royals have access to." Abby let go of the girl's hand in shock. Royals? Portals? Was this girl delusional?

"Are you lying to me?!" The girls eyes widened once more.

"N-No. I am telling you the truth!" Abby nodded silently.

"Who are you and why are you here?" The girl once again looked shocked at Abby's questions, but still answered them.

"I am Ahura. I was sent by Prince Sethos to accompany you to the table to eat breakfast." Abby's eyes widened.

"Prince?!" Ahura nodded.

"Yes. Prince Sethos has requested that you join him for a feast." Abby scanned the nervous looking girl from head to toe and her eyes widened when she saw that she was just wearing a white bra and an extremely short sand like brown material that had the shape of a triangle in the front and at the back. The girl was extremely skinny and had the visible parts of her body except her head covered in shimmery paint. The girl didn't speak unless spoken to and always kept her head down, Abby gasped realising something. "Are you a servant?" The girls eyes widened in shock, and locked on Abby's.

"Yes." Abby rose a hand to comfort the girl when she flinched away. "I'm sorry." Abby's hand fell to her side, her eyebrows furrowing in confusion.

"Why are you sorry?" Ahura looked into Abby's eyes for a quick moment before averting hers. She noticed then that the girl's eyes were teary.

"I'm not meant to look a royal guest in the eyes..." Abby frowned at the girl. She began to think that this girl was not willingly carrying out this role of servitude.

"How old were you when you were taken?" She cautiously asked, and the girl's reaction confirmed her suspicions.

Ahura's eyes filled with a fresh batch of tears. "Ten."

Abby gasped, her hand instinctively covered her mouth as she stared at the young girl. Her eyes filled with tears for the girl and many others who were here. Was this really how she was going to be? Was she going to also be telling another new royal guest about how she was taken on her eighteenth birthday.

"You don't have to refer to me as a guest, I'm Abigail." Ahura's tear filled eyes widened as she looked into Abigail's tearful eyes. Abigail gave her a soft smile in response to which Ahura didn't return, instead looking down again.

"Prince Sethos requested that you wear this dress to breakfast...Abigail." Abby looked down at the golden dress in Ahura's hands and nodded, taking it from her so as to not put the girl in trouble.

"I will wear it." Ahura gave a small smile for the first time since their short meeting.

"Thank you...Abigail." Abby nodded with a wide smile and let the girl into the room before closing the door after her.

"You can sit, Ahura," Abby said once she noticed how awkwardly the petite girl stood in the middle of the room. Ahura nodded and sat on the littlest spot on the bed. Abby ignored it, letting the girl do whatever she felt comfortable with.

Abby unzipped her dress and stepped out of it when Ahura jumped up from the bed immediately. "I will help you bathe..."

"No!" Abby laughed nervously. "I can do that on my own, Ahura, you just sit there." Ahura nodded and sat down again, fiddling with her fingers.

Ahura didn't say a word but just looked down at the ground once more, Abby didn't say anything either and chose to prepare for breakfast with the devil.
