Abigail's pov

The day had come. Abby felt her heart pounding in her chest as the maids dressed her. It wasn't an Egyptian dress, it was a silky pink dress hanging low on her shoulders. It was modest with see through puffy long sleeves with only flowers decorating them. The dress itself was a ballroom styled gown with it's tight upper body section having a beautiful sweetheart neckline, then flowing out beautifully from her torso downwards, past her ankles. The whole dress was decorated in beautiful flowers and had a soft look to it. Abby's hairdo however was flawless. Her shoulder length black hair was pulled into a braided bun. Daises were braided into the bun as well with a few locks still being braided so that it can be crossed over and tucked into the bun. More daises were intertwined in every braid and Abby couldn't deny that it looked beautiful. Her blue eyes sparkled in the shiny golden eyeshadow and thin black eyeliner, her lips were painted a light pink color and her blush was barely visible. Abby wasn't wearing any jewelry and was looking as pure as ever. Finally, the maids were done. They helped her slip into the cliche glass slippers and she was ready.

Abby turned around to face Seth who sat on the bed, watching her with a smirk. He had been in the room since she was getting dressed; apparently, he was her date to the welcome party.

He gave out a hand for her to hold onto as he stood up, seeing that she was ready. Abby let her hand fall into his, there was nothing she could do until her chance to escape. She didn't smile back and instead glued her eyes to the ground. Seth led her out of the room and as they walked down the hallways, Abby could see maids scurrying around towards the same direction. The hallways were soon deserted and Abby found herself descending down a set of stairs, there was no possible way she could remember the way they had passed to come that far, so Abby stuck to let Seth lead the way, her eyes looking around. The scenery had completely changed as they descended another set of stairs. It swirled to come down and had a golden railing where Abby could see her reflection. The chandelier twinkling as it hung from the ceiling. Abby finally found herself in a very huge room. There were so many staircases and giant golden doors. Like Seth, many other Princes wore crowns while girls Abby guessed were Princesses wore very beautiful golden tiaras. The scenery was magnificent: diamond chandeliers hung from the ceiling and touched the ground, one on a side of the room and the other on the opposite side. Guests came in from different doors, Abby couldn't tell which was the exit as guards stood on each of them.

"Good luck escaping." Abby heard Seth whisper in her ear. She bit her lip, looking down on the ground with tears filling her eyes as not to cry while Seth chuckled at his own sick joke.

Seth walked them forward and Abby could make out empty thrones up front from a little space between the chatting guests. In the corner, a band sang songs and played instruments, but the dance floor, a huge space in middle Abby recognised was it, was deserted. Seth however led her to something that looked like a bar, many other people stood near or sat on the seats, maids scurried back and forth to get drinks on trays and pass it to the guests.

Abby sat awkwardly by Seth's side as he spoke to the bartender in an unknown language. As Abby took her time to study the guests, she realised she was dressed differently than all the women. They had bangles on their upper arms and wrists with shiny transparent veils attached to them. A golden headband was attached to their head, pinning down their hair; huge golden necklaces were around their necks and they wore rings on their fingers. Their eyeliner was drawn long and cat like with dark eyeshadows and heavy mascara. Their lips painted a dark color of their choice. Many of the women sat or stood around the bar as they giggled and chatted in an unknown language. Seth seemed to understand what they said as he turned and winked their way, smirking when he saw the way they all blushed and looked away. Some of them gave Abby the stink eye and smiled flirtatiously when Seth glanced their way.
