Abigail's pov
By the time Abby was back in her room, she wanted to hurl. She felt weak but strong at the same time. After being forced to swallow Seth's blood, who wouldn't feel disgusted? Abby still couldn't find it in her to believe all that had happened: Seth had just drank her blood. Was it for fun? Was this all a prank? Abby wanted to believe it was but she knew it was true; this all was true. She was in Egypt with a delusional freak who thought she was her sister and is apparently going to use her for some demon sacrifice. She had a lot of questions. Why did he drink her blood? What was he? Why didn't they capture Rea as well if they needed both twins? Seth talked about his great- great- great- grandfather, but from the story he told, they weren't even related in anyway. Why would he lie to her? What did he mean by "fraternizing with the guards"? As far as Abby was concerned, she hadn't spoken with any of them since she got here...
Abby massaged her temples slowly. The questions were going to drive her crazy one day, she was very sure of it. Abby heard the sound of jingling keys and turned to see Ahura. She stood up quickly and didn't know what she was doing when she hugged her. The girl, shocked, stayed still like a statue. Tears flowed down Abby's cheeks and she held the girl tighter. "He drank my blood. Is he going to keep doing it?" The girl was silent for a while before she lowered her eyes in shame.
"I don't know." Abby held the girl tighter and released her to drag her over to sit on the bed, although the girl refused and chose to keep standing.
"He said I was fraternizing with the guards..." The girl didn't seem surprised at that fact as she awkwardly scratched behind her neck.
"That's the thing...Abigail. A guard did come into the room and laid you on the bed. The news spread like wildfire and I guess that is why the Prince questioned you." Ahura bowed but Abby didn't notice as she was too far away from the news she had received. A guard placed her on the bed?!
"Where did he even get the keys?!" Ahura shook her head at Abby's question.
"No one really notices the guards, but the other maids say he was really charming. The prince trusted the guards more than the slaves and gave them more authority before; I think that now he would change the way his region of the palace would be..."
"Region?!" Ahura nodded, not showing any facial expressions to Abby's outburst.
"Yes. The castle is divided into different regions based on the age and how responsible a prince proves himself to be in the palace. Right now, Prince Sethos' portion is very small like all other princes Pharaoh has, but any of them who does an honorable work gets his portion increased..." Abby's eyes went wide. How big was the kingdom exactly? But then, it dawned on her.
"Wait. So the princesses, they get what?" Ahura shook her head.
"The princesses get nothing. Pharaoh Donkor says it's not smart to get them anything when they will be married and be out of the kingdom." Abby couldn't believe this. The girls get practically nothing from their father!
"What region are we in exactly?" Ahura thought for a while.
"I would say a little bit of the Eastern, but Prince Sethos can get the shares of Prince Chafulumisa, Prince Taafeef and Prince Darwish if he does something exceedingly pleasant for Pharaoh." Abby was slowly catching up with Ahura' explantation, but something still seemed unclear.
"Why does he want to do it?" Ahura shrugged her shoulders gently.
"I do not know, Princess. I would say he would like that because Pharaoh passes through every share to see how his Prince's are handling it every once in two months. However, whoever gets to get a full region to themselves gets to keep their privacy as well, so there is constant competition between the Princes for these positions." Abby couldn't still understand how Seth planned to take a region.
"Which region does Pharaoh Donkor stay?" Ahura wasted no time in answering.
"The central zone..." Abby's brows furrowed in confusion.
"What's that?"
"It's the biggest region in the kingdom and contains the middle of the palace which is very grand. That is where all the royals stay except the Princes. Pharaoh has control of all the ballrooms to make sure that there would be no unknown parties in the other regions but the first son has his own personal ballroom where he can throw parties with or without the knowledge of Pharaoh." Abby was confused at this news.
"I thought Pharaoh had many wives?" Ahura nodded.
"Indeed, but he cherishes his first wife the most. The first son, Prince Cepos who is ripe for marriage is the son of Queen Nefertiti along with Prince Sethos' who is the second son and last child of the Queen..."
"Wait. Queen Nefertiti? As in Queen Nerfertiti?!" Ahura shook her head, confused.
"I am not sure what you mean but, it is a title for the royal mother here in Egypt." Abby found more questions invading her head.
"Why haven't I seen this Prince Cepos if he is closer to Sethos than any other royal?" Ahura answered immediately.
"He went on a journey to earth to fulfill a mission and is returning in three nights. Pharaoh is actually throwing a ball to welcome him home." Abby frowned at that knowledge before something fell into her mind.
"Do you think we can escape on that day?" Ahura rubbed her arm in discomfort.
"Escape?!" The girl's eyes widened in fear as she looked around her cautiously and whispered to Abigail as if the walls had ears, "–I...don't know, Princess. They might catch us and we will be greatly punished..." Abby shook her head, holding the girls two hands and shaking them in confidence.
"We. Will. Get. Out. Of. Here, Ura." She smiled softly at the nickname.
"My father used to call me that." Unshed tears filled her eyes and Abby pulled her into a tight hug.
"And he will again." Abby pulled out of the hug to see Ahura' determination set in stone with a quick nod of her head. Abby paused for a while, just realising something.
"What do you think Seth is planning to give Pharaoh?" Ahura shrugged gently.
"I don't know, Princess. But something like that would probably mean he is hoping to present a way for the revival of Ra..."
