Chapter 12

The next day, Josie is at work at her desk taking a small break. She is currently still a couple days ahead in work, compared to her associates, so a break was needed. Jade, Landon, and Raph were all still currently filling out their forms and data sheets.

She's reading on her phone when she gets a notification.

Hope: You wanna have lunch with me?

Josie smiles at the message. She hasn't been able to get Hope outta of her head for a while now, and she's glad Hope wants to spend time with her as well.

Josie: I would love to 🤗

Hope: Cool meet me by the elevator on the 40th floor in like 10 minutes

Josie closes her computer and stands up. "Don't tell me your done already?"Landon says.

Josie chuckles. "No, I'm just heading off to lunch." She walks out the door without another glance.

"So Raph when are you gonna ask her out man?" Landon says as soon as Josie is no longer in view.

Raphael turns to Landon. "I don't know man, after I caught scent of that mark , I don't think it would be a good idea. I mean if this person catches me around her I could lose my life."

"Not trying to burst your bubble or anything but you can't get a girl like that anyway." Both of the guys turn towards the voice. Jade is on her laptop not even looking at them.

"What do you mean I can't get a woman like that?" Raph says a little annoyed.

"You lack confidence and women can sense that , it's like fresh blood, you can smell it a mile away." She says not bothering to look in his direction.

"Whatever, why do you think you can?" He says.

Landon just watches this go down with amusement.

Jade finally looks up from her computer. "I know I can. That's the difference between you and I. I have confidence and girls love that." She says. Raph rolls his eyes. Landon speaks, "So prove it."

Raph looks back at Landon. "What!?" He says.

"I want her to prove that she can get a woman like that." He returns his gaze on Jade.

"Listen I will only do this because I want to, I'm not going to go for her out of competition. I'm going after her because I want her. Let's get that clear." Jade says.

Landon shrugs his shoulders. "That's fine by me." He says.

"Not by me!!" Raph says, raising his voice. "I'm still going to try, and not prove anything I like her okay." He says.

"Okay man calm down, no one said you couldn't." Landon says.

"She did." He huffs looking at Jade. She just looks at him unbothered.

Josie gets to the elevator she presses the button as she waits on Hope. She can't help but feel excited about seeing her.

'Yesterday was so wonderful. I'm glad we are getting to know each other more. That's exactly what I wanted.'
