Chapter 49

"I have a feeling you weren't talking about the weather." She chuckles afterwards.

Josie sees the expression on Hope's face turn into a more uneasy one. She reaches for Hope's hand to assure her.

"You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to babe. I was just curious." She smiles gently at the auburn haired girl.

Hope gives Josies a soft smile in return. "Actually it is something you need to know. You're my girlfriend so it's bound to happen." She sighs deeply saying a small incantation so no one can hear their conversation, "So when I mentioned heat I was not talking about the weather."

"I figured." Josie replied nodding, encouraging Hope to continue.

Hope can feel her hands starting to sweat, she doesn't know why she's so nervous, Josie's her girlfriend she can tell her anything.

Josie can feel her getting tense so she slowly strokes her fingers softly, hoping to calm her down a bit.

Hope relaxes into her touch and takes a deep exhale. "It's rare but since I'm the miracle baby I get into heat on the fourth phase of the moon. The waxing gibbous phase more specifically, it has some characteristics that um... uh," Josie squeezes her hand again in comfort.

Hope clears her throat and turns away from the brunette. "Well how do I say this... I get into this crazy mating frenzy. I only want to do one thing, which is you know what," she chuckles nervously.

"I don't know why I was censoring this but in all actuality I just want to fuck, not like regular fucking, like continuous fucking until I burn out."

She turns to look Josie in her eyes. Seeing her cheeks tinted a dark red, she smiles hoping that was the girl's reaction.

"It's something I can't avoid because well, my weird body won't let me. I get this serious burning in my stomach, I try to ease the pain by working out all day which helps but it's not enough." She tries to read Josie's facial expressions.

"It typically lasts a whole week for every couple of months. There is good news though, my aunt Freya found a spell that can speed it up. So now it's only for a day, during this day I normally lock myself up in my room or somewhere to mask my scent because it attracts other wolves, and I don't like to see anyone. I get moody, which is why when I was a teenager, my family would be extremely nice so I wouldn't get super irritated and blow up our home." She laughs recalling those memories.

Josie listens intently, taking in all this newfound information. "So you never," She sits up in her chair, "had sex during heat?"

Hope uses a hand to rub the back of her neck, "I have... it just didn't end well." Josie nods waiting on Hope to continue.

She sighs, "My last boyfriend was with me when it happened. I told him what would happen and he said he wanted to help." She moves uncomfortably in her seat, Josie noticed but she doesn't point it out, knowing her girlfriend is anxious.

"He ended up getting hurt." She says.

Josie furrows her brows in confusion. "He got hurt? How?" She asks.

Hope laughs nervously and waves her hand, making a glass of what Josie assumes is alcohol appear. She takes a big gulp before she speaks. "I broke a part of him. My wolf got too carried away." She finishes.

Josie's eyes widen comically as she realizes what Hope has implied. She opens her mouth to say something but finds no words.

Hope shakes her head. "Yes I know, that's why I don't mention it." She intertwines their fingers. "And knowing you my loving girlfriend, you would want to help me with this situation but it's fine. I will lock myself up in my family's basement and exercise until I drop." She finishes.
