When everyone got home from New York things went pretty normal. I had classes three times a week and Maya and I were coming up on our three month anniversary. Maya hadn't passed out in a couple months and she wasn't as depressed as before.

Shawn was put on some experimental trial that for some reason improved his health by a lot. Maya and I visited him a couple times before we came back home and he seemed to be a lot happier.

In the middle of playing video games with Farkle, Maya asked if we could go for a walk together. The two of us walked down to the beach near our apartment and sat down in the cool sand.

I asked, "So how are you doing?"

"Good. Everything in life is going good right now. Shawn's health is getting better and I have the best boyfriend ever," Maya replied.

I really liked Maya.

"Do you think that you'll starting singing again?" I asked.

The one thing that didn't go back to normal was Maya's singing career. She didn't have much time to go into the stuido and work on her music since going out to visit Shawn. She promised me that it wasn't bugging her, but I knew that she was just lying to me.

"What do you mean? Do you want me to sing for you again like I did that night?"

"No. It's just you haven't been in with Marty lately."

"Maybe I'll get back in the stuido tomorrow."

"Okay."

"Can we just lay here for a moment?" Maya asked.

I nodded and the two of us layed back on the sand. It was dark out so the stars were out shining brighter than Maya's smile.

A loud clap coming from the sky made me jumped and scare Maya. At first I thought it was a clap of thunder and we were going to have to run back to my apartment, but it was just a few fireworks.

"How romantic is this?" Maya smiled.

"Hey did you plan this?' I smirked.

Maya laughed, "No. I just wanted to go on a walk with you."

The two of us laid back in the sand and I put my arm around her shoulder.

"I love it here," Maya mumbled, into my neck.

I asked, "What about New York or London?"

London was actually the last place Maya went while she was on tour. Farkle talked a lot about Maya before she came back and when I finally meet her I was basically starstruck.

"This is going to sound so cheesy, but I don't want to be anywhere unless you're with me."

I kissed her forehead, "I don't want to be anywhere without too."

"I don't feel empty anymore," Maya said, sitting up.

From the time I've known Maya, she's been so unhappy without Shawn and Josh. She's finally happy again.

"That's great, because you're not alone. You'll also have me and Riley and Farkle."

"Before you were around I was so depressed with Josh and stuff, but now you're here and I just feel so whole again."

I sat up and hugged Maya.

"Maya just know I'm always going to be here for you."

After our hug we both say back down in the sand and watched the stars.

"Lucas?" Maya broke the silence.

"Yeah?"

"Never mind."

It annoys me that they haven't said I love you yet.

Like that last line was so close.
