Hinahanap - Hanap Ko Siya

Chapter 5

As Bamboo boards the plane back to the Philippines, his mind still wanders back in the past.

Flashback July 2012:

Nasundan pa ng maraming pagkakataon na makapag - duet silang dalawa ni Sarah. Katunayan nga, isa pa si Bamboo sa naging special guests ni Sarah sa kanyang 24th birthday concert na ginanap sa Araneta.

This gave them both more chance to get to know each other better. Lumalim ang friendship nila. Hindi na nahihiya si Sarah sa kanya, at kung minsan pa ay nakikipagbiruan narin siya.

During those times, Bamboo welcomes the distraction (that is, Sarah's company), for him to escape reality even for a few hours in every rehersal or performance he does with her. This was because he was already separated from his wife, Cecil. Though he gets to visit ther children, Isabel and Lucio whenever he could.

Theirs was an amicable separation, they didn't even fought on child support or custody, because separating was a mutual desicion. He knows he should be thankful, and really, he is, but it's just that he's still not used to being single once again after being married for so long. He found it strange coming home to an empty house. He missed his kids, of course, and missed having a wife to support him and always be there for him, whenever, wherever. It's not that he misses Cecil, herself. He has long since moved on from her, and they remained friends now, but he missed the companionship.

And so he immersed himself with work, not telling a soul of what was happening in his private life. Except for Pancho, of course.

At the rehersal studio, Bamboo was giving pointers to Sarah, as they prepared to rehers the song Iris. He was pleased that Sarah is a fast learner, even though she really has never sung the song before. You can throw any genre at her, she will still come out with her own style and version that would still be great.

On the performance night, Sarah was a picture of happiness and excitement. They recieved a standing ovation for their number. He enjoyed it as much as she did.

It was after that collaboration, though, that people started to see sparks between them whenever they perform. They called it "chemistry".

At one point, Bamboo recalls an interview of Sarah stating her admiration for him and that she idolized him since her childhood days. People have taken it out of context though, and made up rumors about Sarah having a crush on him. Though Bamboo has no problem in regards to that, he understood however that in showbiz, everything is exagerated.

There was even one interview that he did, explaining that the magic only happens on stage when they perform. Hanggang dun lang yung chemistry.

Bamboo admits to himself na noong nalilink na sila together ng media at fans, romantically, ay yun naman ang nakapagpabahala sa kanya, he did not want to give them false hopes, at lalong lalo na ayaw niyang masasaktan si Sarah sa huli. Because even though he likes her, he had no plans whatsoever of making a move to court Sarah. Sus, di pa nga alam ng publiko na hiwalay na sya sa asawa, eh. And so he continues the pretense of being unavailable, by wearing his wedding ring, still. Hindi pa sya ready noon.

Nagka - repeat performance ng song na Iris naman sila sa ginanap na birthday concert ni Sarah out of town. At nasundan pa ito ng another Iris song number sa Sarah G Live, finale episode.

By this time, lumalaki na ang fandom nilang dalawa, at nabuo g Ashboo.

Flashforward present:

Their plane just landed. With his shades on and together with the rest of his team, Bamboo is home.
