The Power of a Rose.

Reagan's POV:

I put my bags in the truck and Asher did too as I got in. I drove out of the parking lot and Asher gave me his address.

"So, did you use your powers today?" he asked intrigued.

"No thankfully. No one scared me today." I said looking at him.

"Yeah yeah. I'm still sorry about that." He said shrugging and looking out of the window.

I shrugged, "It's fine. You wouldn't have found out about us if you hadn't."

He nodded understanding my point of view.

We got to his house. It was a normal two story house.

"You want to come in?" he asked.

"Uh, sure." I said unbuckling my seat belt.

We got out, got his stuff from the trunk, and Asher unlocked the door. A cute little girl ran to Asher once the door was open. She looked about three or four.

"Ashy! Ashy! Ashy!" she yelled.

Asher smiled and picked her up

"Hi munchkin." he said in an adorable voice.

"This is Reagan." he said introducing me.

She stated at me for a moment then hid her face in his shoulder.

"Reagan, this is Rose my little sister. She's a bit shy." He said motioning to the little girl in his arms.

I walked up to them and looked at Rose.

"Well hi Rose aren't you just the cutest thing." I said tickling her.

She giggled and smiled at me. She put her arms out towards me and Asher gave her to me.

"I wike her." she said poking my face.

"Well you aren't too bad either." I said poking her nose.

She smiled resting her head on my shoulder and sticking a thumb in her mouth. Asher smiled and nodded towards a room.

We walked in and it was the kitchen. A man stood at the stove.

"Hey dad." Asher said.

"Hey Ash. Oh who's your friend?" his dad said smiling.

"I'm Reagan." I said politely.

"Oh nice to meet you Reagan, You can call me Arthur." he said.

I nodded and smiled.

"Are you going to stay for dinner?" he asked.

Asher looked hopeful waiting fight my answer.

"I'm sorry I can't my mom would have a fit." I apologized.

"But I would love to another time." I said recovering.

"Okay squirt I better go." I told Rose.

She giggled, "Owkay, but you hawve to cwome back."

I nodded and smiled and handed her to her dad.

"Nice to meet you Reagan" he said smiling.

"I'll walk her out." Asher told his dad.

He nodded.

"Your family's so cute." I said when we got to the door.

He smiled, "Yeah I wouldn't change them for the world."

"Where's your mom?" I asked.

He looked upset so I didn't want to press it.

"Y-you don't have to answer that. Sorry I asked." I added quickly.

"No, no its okay. I'll answer. She died when Rosie was born." he said tearing up.

Impulsively, I gave him a long hug. He stiffened for a moment then sighed and wrapped his arms around my waist gripping me tightly.

"I knew I shouldn't have asked." I whispered.

Asher just shook his head as I looked up.

"No I said it was fine." he said and I nodded.

"Well I better go." I whispered.

I kissed his cheek and walked out. He looked stunned.

I smiled, "Bye Ash."

I walked to my car and got in.

I drove home and parked my car in the front. I got my stuff out of the trunk and walked up the steps to the door.

I unlocked the door and sighed. No one was in sight. Putting my keys on the ring, I walked straight upstairs. I got to my room and put my bags next to my dresser.

I grabbed everything out of my gym bag and put everything in my closet. Taking off my uniform and keeping my sports bra and spandex on, I grabbed my new sweatshirt and slipped it over my head and walked out.

I went into the kitchen and saw my mom cooking dinner.

Huh it was 6:49 p.m. I guess I took longer than I thought.

Reags get out of your thoughts and sit down. My mom said.

I looked up and saw her glowing eyes. I nodded sheepishly and sat down next to Cassie.

"I see we thought alike" Cassie said.

I looked over and saw her wearing her new cheer sweatshirt and a pair of leggings. Her cheer sweatshirt was all black except for the red Redwood Cheer in the front. I laughed.

"Are you sure we aren't the twins?" I asked as she laughed.

"Where's Collin and Jodie?" I asked looking around.

"Well Collin is sleeping over at River's and Jodie is at a dancers house." she answered and I nodded.

"Well girls, since it's just us let's eat!" mom said finishing up the food.

She made halibut and mashed sweet potatoes.

When I looked at her she said, "I know you guys have to the welcome back assembly tomorrow so might as well."

We eat healthy before every game. I nodded.

We ate and went to our rooms. I did my chem and calculus homework then took off my sweatshirt.

I got into bed and sighed. I can't wait for tomorrow. I turned off the lamp on my side table and fell into a dreamless sleep.
