I stood and waited for them to say something. "Neil, look man, she was bound to find out eventually. You're being all awkward around her anyway," Jeremy said.

"Well.. that's just how I am around new people." Neil said.

"No, it's not."

"Okay, maybe not! But I mean, did you have to tell her I like her? She's not gonna wanna be friends with me now. Thats why she's being so quiet and weird around me," Neil said angrily.

I walked down the stairs. Neil looked up at me and Jeremy turned around to look at me. "I'm that way around everyone..." I said, forcing myself to speak loud enough for them to hear. "A-and, I'll totally be friends with you.."

"Why are you so quiet?" Neil asked.

"Back at ya.." I said. He smirked slightly. "I guess it's just because I've had a rough childhood and I like to get to know someone before I openly have a conversation with them."

"Neil's just shy around chicks he likes," Jeremy said, smiling. Neil looked at him like he was about to beat him up. Which, in a fight, Neil would definitely win.

"Yeah, um..." Neil said, scratching the back of his head. He looked around the small living room, just as his phone buzzed. "I've gotta go.." he said, letting himself out.

"Don't worry, he'll warm up to you and your cuteness," Jeremy said, heading for the stairs.

"What?" I asked.

"Um.. nothin," Jeremy said, walking up the stairs a tad bit faster.

"Jeremy, what did you say?" I asked as we walked in our room.

"Nothin, it was irrelevant," he said, shaking his head.

"I coulda sworn you just called me cute," I said, poking him in the chest. He sighed and pushed my hand away.

"Is it dinner time yet?" ge groaned.

"Nope, I'm not dropping this one, McKinnon," I said.

"Oh my god!" he sighed. "Fine," he blushed, "I said you were cute."

"Awwh!" I said, doing my best to keep a blush off of my cheeks.

"Let's never speak of this again," Jeremy sighed, rolling into his bed.

-

"Kids, dinner!" Jeff called. I sighed and stood up. Jeremy followed me down the stairs.

We had some kind of chicken and macaroni and cheese. Hey, it's food.

It was decent. My mom rarely cooked, and by rarely, I mean once. I finished quickly and excused myself to my room. I jumped up the steps and curled up in my bed. I pulled out my phone and started poking around on the schools website to see when I could get my schedule.

"Ew, nerd," Jeremy said, looking at the screen. I rolled my eyes.

"Well, it's either I find out or I don't get my schedule," I said, tossing my phone on the nightstand.

"Pft. Looks like I'm not getting a schedule then."

"That's fine I'll pick yours up for you," I said. Jeremy rolled his eyes.

"I'm gonna take a shower," Jeremy said, rummaging through a bag for his clothes that he still hadn't unpacked.

"Have fun," I said, pulling the blankets over my head.

"Oh, I will," he said. I rolled my eyes and listened as the shower turned on and the bathroom door closed. I fell asleep slowly.

-

"Hey, Lendzie..?!" someone said. I groaned and looked up from the blankets. Jeremy's head was sticking out of the bathroom door. "Where do you keep your towels?"

"In the closet," I replied.

".. Yeah, which one?" he asked.

"The one on the right," I yawned. Jeremy's head disappeared, then reappeared.

"They're both on the right!" he exclaimed.

"That's not even possible!" I groaned.

"They're both to the right!"

"Yes, but the one on the right," I said. He sighed and disappeared, then reappeared.

"I don't get it," he said, shaking his head. I glared over at him.

"Is this a joke?" I asked. He shook his head. I groaned. "It's literally the door on the right!"

"I don't understand!" he said, obviously frustrated. I groaned and stood up.

"Wait... you're like..." I said, stopping at the door.

"Well.. yeah," he said, "Don't worry, he doesn't bite," Jeremy laughed. My eyes widened and Jeremy immediately shut his mouth.

Jeremy pulled the door open. He was standing with one hand over his crotch, still dripping wet from the shower. I swallowed hard and looked elsewhere.

"It's this one. The one on the right," I said, pulling the double doors open.

"Oh.." he said. "I didn't know these two doors were one..."

"Oh my god. You're slow," I said, handing him a towel. He faced away and wrapped it around his waist.

"Thank you," he smiled. I rolled my eyes and turned to leave. He pulled my arm and jerked me back. I looked up, my eyes wide. "Wipe that horrified look off your face, I'm not gonna hurt you." I forced my expression away. "Do you have any cotton swabs?" he asked.

"Yeah, top left cabinet. Oh but wait, you can't tell left from right!" I said. Jeremy rolled his eyes.

"So it's this one?" he asked jokingly, pointing at the bottom right. I rolled my eyes and opened the top left cabinet for him.

Jeremy took a cotton swab from the box and jammed it in his ear. "You're gonna deafen yourself," I said.

"Whaat?" he asked loudly. I rolled my eyes and leaned against the counter. I turned and started walking to the door.

Jeremy ran out in front of me, blocking the door. "One more thing."
