Chapter 50

Jeremy noticed my nervousness. He smirked and grabbed my hand. "It'll be fine," he whispered as we climbed the stairs.

A couple of kids attempted to trip us. Neil actually fell over someone on purpose to get them written up.

I glanced at Kevin and sat beside Josh, who was sitting next to Kevin. Jeremy sat in front of me, turned around facing me. Neil sat next to Jeremy.

"Get your head out of my crotch," Josh said, pushing Neil away.

"You can put your head in my crotch any day," Jeremy joked. Neil glared at him. "Kidding!"

"Where's Alex?" Neil asked.

"Over there.." Josh pointed to a small group of people.

"Why?" Jeremy asked. "He hates Larry."

"I don't know," Josh shrugged. "I think it's something to do with you and Lendzie."

"Why can't he just be happy that Jeremy is finally happy?!" Neil slapped his hands on his legs angrily.

"I know.." Kevin sighed.

"Were you, like, really depressed before we met?" I whispered to Jeremy.

He looked around quickly. "We'll talk about it."

"Jeremy, all of us already know what-" Neil began.

"I just don't wanna talk now, okay?" Jeremy sighed. I reached down and rubbed his back.

"Fine, whatever." Neil shrugged.

"Should we go talk to Alex?" Josh asked. Kevin shook his head and let his knee touch Josh's.

I slid down into Jeremy's lap. He almost fell over backwards, but caught himself. "You okay?"

"Yeah, I didn't fall." Jeremy nodded, putting his arms around me.

"No, not that, dimwit." I sighed. He looked at me sideways. "You just seemed.."

"Can we talk later?" He sighed.

"Yeah.." I shrugged, sighing again.

"Why did you sigh?"

"You're upset." I met his gaze.

"No, I'm fine," Jeremy said.

"Don't lie to me."

"I'm sorry." Jeremy sighed. "I'll be okay though."

"You sure?" I asked, concerned.

"Yes." He nodded. "Don't let it bug you all day," he said pleadingly.

"Okay." I nodded, looking down at my lap. Jeremy leaned down and kissed me. "I'm better now." I smiled. He laughed softly.

"I love you," Jeremy said, resting his head against mine.

"I love you too."

"Awww!" Josh cooed.

"Shut the fuck up!" Jeremy sighed. Josh laughed and leaned on Kevin's shoulder.

Jeremy played with my hair. "What's wrong?" I asked.

"What..?"

"What's wrong with you?" I asked. He shook his head.

Coach Fletcher blew his whistle and ordered us to line up. Jeremy sighed and attempted to push me off of him. "I'm surprised Henry didn't say hi," Jeremy mumbled, more to himself than me.

"Same." I laughed as he pushed me off. We slowly climbed down the stairs.

"McKinnon.. both of you, hurry up!" Neil yelled from the bottom. Jeremy looked around then flipped him off.
