Since that Christmas, life has not stopped getting busier and busier. Over 4 years have passed and life has been going really well. For my music career, it has explode in the best ways possible and when I am not touring, I have been home writing and recoding music. Once the pandemic hit and the entire world shut down, I was finally able to be the stay at home Mama that my kids deserve. The twins are finally getting to an age where they understand that Mama and Daddy have to leave sometimes for work because it helps keep food on the table and lets us go on vacations but its never easy leaving the kids. I look back on my teenage years and remember how much crap I gave my parents for never being there for my things. I never truly understood how much that hurt them until I had to leave my babies at home. It is now the beginning of September Ryan and I are going to be picking up my siblings and kids from school because my parents are coming back from a work trip in Las Vegas. We parked in the school parking lot and headed inside to get the kids. They aren't in the same grade but they are in the lower elementary school/ preschool together. We walked to the parent pick up area and waited for dismissal to start. One of the school staff carrying clipboard walked over to us. She looked new and didn't really know what she was doing, she also looked very unfriendly.

"Who y'all picking up today?" She asked

"Shelby and Annabelle Blackstock, and Carson and Olivia Smith." I answered

"Who are you in relationship to them?" She asked

"Parents to the Smiths and older sister and brother in law to the Blackstock." I said

"May I see your ID please?" She asked

"Oh sure." I said and pulled my wallet out of my purse. I took my drivers license out of my wallet and she examined it for a solid minute

"Your last name here says your last name is Blackstock- Smith but the two kids you say you are picking up last name is just Blackstock, seems a bit fishy to me." She said, only now looking at me.

"When my husband and I got married, I hyphened my maiden and married last names together." I told her. I was slowly starting to get annoyed because I have picked my siblings up from school multiple times and have never had any issue before. She handed me my license back and moved on to another parent but kept looking back at me.

"What is her deal?" I whispered to Ryan and soon kids started to flood the parent pickup area. I saw Belle looking around for mama or daddy and I started waving to get her attention. when she saw me and Ryan, she smiled big and ran over to us

"Sissy!" She smiled and hugged my waist tight. I smiled and wrapped my arms around her and kissed her head

"Hey Moo Moo." I smiled she loves that I still call her that.

"Where's Mama and Daddy?" She asked

"They are still on their way home from Las Vegas." I said and Shelby ran to us

"Hey Ryan!"He smiled big

"Hey big guy!" Ryan smiled gave him a high five. Shelby hugged my waist tight and I wrapped his arms around his neck. Soon enough Carson and Olivia came over to us. Just by looking at Liv, I could tell that she did not take a nap during the day and was now regretting it.

"Hi Miss no naps." I said as I crouched down in front of her.

"Mommy..." She yawned and wrapped her arms around my neck. I kissed her cheek and carried her out while holding her backpack and Belles  hand out to the car. Once I got the kids settled in their carseats, Ryan drove us to my parents house. Once we pulled into the driveway and parked the car, Mama and Daddy walked out of the front door and waited for the kids to get out of the car.
