A month has passed since that night and it has been a long one. Shelby has decided to hate me and not want anything to do with me. The little stint he pulled was a going on a month now and it hurts so much. He's six months old now and it's getting worse and worse. Ryan is officially moved in and it's our first day of senior year. It's also daddy's 50th birthday
"Whatcha thinking about?" Ryan asked. He could see the wheels turning in my mind
"A lot of things. The party, school, how the six month old hates me." I said
"He's gonna come around baby. I just know it." he said
"It's been a month." I looked at him
He sighed and nodded. "I know. It's got to be just a phase. I don't think he could've ever truly hate you." he said
"I don't know Ryan, I really don't know." I said and sat up
"I still love you." he said
"I love you too." I said
He sat up and gave my cheek a kiss. "We've gotta get ready in a bit. Big day." he said
I looked at him and nodded. "Morning." I pecked his lips
"Morning." he smiled, giving me a kiss. I smiled and patted his thigh. He pulled me close, hugging me
I hugged him back."We gotta get ready." I said
"Okay." he said, getting up to get dressed and get his things together. I got up and got into one of my favorite dresses. Ryan dressed in a shirt he knew I liked and jeans. I curled my hair and did my make up. "You know you don't have to put all that on." Ryan said
"Why not?" I said
"Because you're beautiful without it." he said
"Thanks sweetie." I smiled softly. He kissed my cheek and then sat to put his shoes on. When he was done he just watched me as I finished getting ready. "Dammit!" I jumped. I had hit my arm with the 400 degree curling iron. Ryan jumped up and was right at my side.
"What happened? Did you burn yourself?" he asked concerned
"Yeah! I need ice." I said running Into the kitchen. He followed behind me and turned the cold tap water on.
"Here. Run it under the cool water. I'll grab the ice." he said
"Thanks." I said
"Welcome." He grabbed an ice pack from the freezer and came back to place it on my arm. "Okay, it's gonna be very cold." he warned. I nodded and waited for him to put it in. He placed the ice pack on the burn gingerly. I jumped a bit and flinched. His other hand rubbed the top of my arm to relax me and he continued to hold the ice pack on my burn
"Last time I curl my hair at 6 in the morning.." I said
"It's okay baby. Despite the battle scar, it looks really good." he said, playing with a strand of my hair
"Thanks darling." I smiled and pecked his lips. Mama walked in with Shelby"Morning." she said with a yawn
"Morning." I said
"What's the ice pack for?" she asked
"I burnt my arm." I said
"How?" she asked
"Curling my hair." I said
"Ooh..." she grimaced. "I've done that before."
"It hurts." I said
"I think I might have a little bit of cream you can put on it and I can wrap it." she said
