Surgery day

Those eight hours were the longest eight hours of their lives. Mama was pacing back and forth, her eyes a little red and puffy. Daddy was getting anxious watching her. 

"How long has it been?" She asked.

"An hour?" He looked at his watch and sighed

"Only an hour?!" She said. "Narvel...I feel like...I don't know what to do right now." She told him 

"Honey come here." He pulled her into his lap. She curled up in his lap and placed her head on his chest. He rubbed her back
"I'm so worried..." She admitted.

"I know honey. I am too." He said. She looked up at him, her eyes a bit watery. 

"What do we do until she comes out?" She asked 

"We just try and past the time." He kissed her. She kissed him back, her eyes beginning to close. After a moment she parted.

 "Well...what do you wanna do?" She asked him.

"I'll figure something out." He said. She nodded and snuggled in closer to him. Ryan was playing with  Shelby. Mama watched as the two got to know each other. Even though daddy gave me a hard time about it, mama loved the fact that I had a boyfriend. Especially one that was as good to me as Ryan was. We have had our fair share of ups and downs but we loved each other. Mama smiled

"Hey honey?" Mama said. Shelby cooed and smiled. Mama laughed. He was so precious. He reached for her 

"My little man." She said with a smile, reaching out to hold him. Ryan handed him over to her 

"Thank you sweetie." She said, smiling at he and he smiled. 

"Is the rest of the family planing on coming to the hospital?" He asked

"I think they might later. I'm not sure." Mama replied.  "I didn't want too many people around to make her more nervous. The most important ones were here." He smiled big when she said the most important ones are here. Mama placed a hand atop Ryan's and leaned over a bit so daddy wouldn't hear her. 

"That gift you gave her was absolutely sweet and so beautiful." he said in a low tone. "Reminds me of someone I know." At this she gestured her head slightly over to daddy who was reading something on his phone.

"Thanks Mrs. Blackstock. I really wanted it to me perfect. She's the best thing to happen to me." He smiled 

"I may be on the outside, but I think you're the best thing that ever happened to her to." Mama said with a smile. "You make her smile and laugh at times that I can't. I love that you keep the beautiful smile she has on her face." She said 

"She's the girl of my dreams and just the thought of losing get makes me sick. I wanna marry her someday." He smiled 

Mama's eyes watered a bit at the thought. "That is really sweet..." She said smiling. "Well, know that you already have my blessing. It's him you have to worry about." She said with a chuckle, gesturing to daddy again.

"Do you think he would give me his blessing?" He asked. He knew that we were both still two young to get married but for the future he wanted to know  

"I'm pretty sure he would. I don't see why he wouldn't." Mama said reassuringly. "He's just very protective of his little girl." She said 

"That's true." Ryan nodded. "I still feel so guilty for what I did." He said sadly  

"We all make mistakes Ryan." She said patting his hand. "Some worse than others, but they're all still mistakes. You're only human. All you can do is pray to God for forgiveness. I know in my heart that you're been forgiven." She said
