This a big week in the Blackstock household. I have to get my braces put on Monday.  We fly out to Oklahoma on Tuesday afternoon.I know she is stressed out and worried about grandpa. I hate to see her like this,  I really don't want braces by the way.  I'm the only one of my friends that hasn't had the yet. It sucks because I'll be 18 by the time they come off. Mama said she thinks I'll look cute and she'll love me no matter how bad they look.  She is obligated to say though, she is my mother.  My most important critic is Ryan. I'm nervous to see what he will think.  It's was last Sunday and the three of us where watching a movie in the Living room

"Mama?" I asked "Yea baby." She replied. "Do I have to get braces?"

"Yes you do." She replied

"Why my teeth aren't that bad." I whined

"If you need them, you need them." Dad said

"Fine, but if I never smile you know why." I said

"You can grin." Mama said

"Not happening." I reply

"Why not?" She asked

"I don't want people to see them." I answered

"Oh come on. They won't look bad."  Dad said

"yes they will." I said

"How do you know?" Mama asked

"Because I just do."

"Ah, so your one of those people that knows everything, like your mother." Dad said

"It runs in the family." I said

Mama shot us both a glare

"What" I asked

"I do not know everything." Mama defended

"Is it okay if Ryan came over tomorrow?  I wan to see him before we leave for Oklahoma." I asked

"I guess so." Dad said

"Okay thanks" I replied

They nodded theirs heads, the movie ended sometime when we were talking

"Goodnight, I'm going to bed." I said

"Why ya goin so early?" Mama asked

"Mama it's 10:30 and my knee is bothering me again." I answered

"Go lay down and I'll get you some pain medicine." She replied getting up

"I'll get it I'm up already." I said

"I'm up now, besides it's my job." She said waddling into the kitchen

I giggled and went upstairs.

Mama came up a few minutes later with some medicine, she was out of breath.

"Thanks Mama." I said

 "You're welcome baby." She replied

"Are you excited about Tuesday?" I asked

"Of course." Mama said smiling

"I'm so excited to see grandma and grandpa. Do you know how he is doing?" I asked

"Not much better." She replied sadly

"How much longer?" I asked concerned

"Not long." She said shaking her head and looking down

"Oh" I said

"Yea..." She trailed off

"Are you sure I have to get braces?" I asked changing the subject
