Warnings: angst

Summary: You're fed up with Tony always benching you since you're not "good enough" or whatever bullshit he makes up on the spot. Your other younger Avengers gets to go out and fight, so you should as well. Well, that's the hope. In reality, it's much shittier.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Wait, what do you mean I can't go? This is bullshit!" you exclaim.

"Watch yourself," Tony warns as he grabs his helmet.

"Sam has a suit made from technology! You're going to want me out there!"

"No means no! You're going to stay here young lady, and when I come back, we're going to talk about your future with the Avengers."

Tony heads to the front door, but you're not done with this conversation... not even in the slightest.

"Peter and Wanda both get to go out there but not me? I'm older than Peter! How is that fair for me?"

"Y/N, seriously, you're not going out there and risking your life where I won't be able to–"

"If you could just give me a chance to prove to you that I'm ready–"

"No, this is where you zip it!" Tony yells loudly. "The adult is talking! You're not leaving this room and going out there! You're not ready so stop asking! Friday, you hear me? She's not leaving."

"Yes, sir."

"Tony!" you scream as he leaves the house you're renting for the time being.

"Friday, let me out. I have to go after him."

"You heard what he said. No one leaves."

An idea pops into your head, and you smirk devilishly.

"Friday, tell me, what are you?"

"I am an AI that Tony had made–"

"Exactly," you interrupt. "Artificial Intelligence. A computer. Technology. Sorry, Friday, but this isn't personal."

You plant one hand on the wall you know Friday is in. This house is all about technology which is why Tony came here in the first place. It's truly his fault he left you alone with technology all around you when you can manipulate the software. Your eyes glow bright green as your magic flows through your hand and into the wall, working through the computer system that's in there. The lights flicker, the appliances go haywire, and Jarvis is slowly drained from his high throne.

The power that runs the whole house is sucked into your body, giving you more power than you know what to deal with. If Tony thinks he can bench his most powerful player, he has another thing coming for him. You're going to show him just how wrong he was for doing what he did.

He found you in the gutters after your parents kicked you out at only the young age of ten. They were scared of what you could do, what you have done, and the nightmares that plagued most of their nights. You're not sure where you got your powers from, but it's sure as hell not from them. When Tony found you, you were angry and pissed off at the world for throwing you away when all you wanted to do was show the world that you're not the bad guy.

You spent the next seven years of your life with Tony, training and trying to become a better person. It never went according to plan because you never learned how to control your powers from the start. You'd always find something to fuck up, anything to destroy, and nothing was working.

"You're better off here than hurting someone out there."

Tony would always say this to you despite seeing how much you're trying to become better. Powers aren't meant for everyone, and you're proving that with every day that passes. Well, you're not going to be the good guy anymore. You're not even going to pretend that you're on Tony's side with this whole Accords mess.

If Tony won't let you be who you really are, then you're going to be on Steve's side. Tony messed with the wrong girl because you're done trying to pretend like you're good. Tony found you when you were at your worst, and you're going to show him that what he witnessed isn't even scratching the surface.

When you sucked enough technology out of the walls, you slam the doors open and head straight to the airport where you know the rest of the team is. It's not going to be a pretty sight, but this is something you have to do. You're tired of being the little girl who isn't allowed off her leash for long.

The sun is bright, but you don't mind it. Tony picked the closest place to the airport as he could so he wouldn't have to travel far. If he had Peter with him, then that was the smartest move. No one is at the airport that matters, so you quickly head to the airstrip to see every Avenger fighting one another.

You had every intention of fighting Steve's side alongside Tony, but Tony made it clear he didn't want you anywhere near him or anyone else. Your eyes shift from the people on Steve's side to focus on the ones on Tony's. Rhodey, T'Challa, Tony, and Peter all have suits that are powered by technology, so it's only fair you give them a taste of their medicine.

You walk out into the open with your eyes bright and hands green. Your magic connects with the technology in Tony's suit first, shorting out everything he has to offer. He thrusts his hands out to use his palm repulsors, but they don't work. He looks at it in confusion, and you manipulate the technology to blast him in the face.

Tony goes flying through the air before regaining control. Rhodey goes to help, but you shut down his system entirely, watching as he falls through the sky dead weight. It's not enough to harm him, but he crashes to the ground in a small explosion of plane parts. You look at Black Panther and do the same to him, but your powers aren't affecting it as much as you thought it would. He must have all his strength inside of him instead of relying on the suit for powers.

There's no manipulating Vision as he is a synthezoid made of up organic matter instead of a computer. Black Widow doesn't have anything that would make much of a difference, so you skip her and move onto Peter. You hesitate for a quick second because he is your best friend. He's the one who stuck by you whenever you were training or dealing with Tony's shit. How could you ever hurt him?

He's trying to fight whoever Steve brought to help his team, so you move back to Tony who just regained control of everything. Your eyes shine a bit brighter, your magic affecting Tony's suit as a whole. You start and stop his thrusters rapidly, shorting out his vision field, and causing his repulsors to go off at anything and everything.

"Y/N?"

You look to your right and see Peter staring at you with concerned eyes. Well, his suit is staring at you. You can't see his beautiful brown eyes. Your eyes return to their normal color as do your hands.

"What are you doing?"

"What I should have done from the second I met Tony," you say bitterly.

"You're not this person."

"You don't know me!" you scream at him. You hate to treat him this way, but he's the only one who can pull you back from the darkness, and if you're being honest, the darkness is just too fun to leave. "Tony's getting what he deserves, and if you stand in the way, I'll get you too."

Suddenly, you feel a hard object hit the back of your head. Your eyes roll to the back of your head as you slump forward, and Peter is quick to catch you so you don't hurt yourself face planting the concrete.

"Get her back to the cabin. We'll deal with her later. Make sure she stays out," Tony orders.

Peter looks down at you and sighs sadly. He knows you've had a hard life, and he just hopes that he can get you back on track so that one day, he won't have to defeat you like he does with everyone else.
