Summary: Every year, Tony throws a party for the Avengers and you love them, except you can never get your makeup right. Thor is your savior in more ways than one.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Being an Avenger had its perks: Tony's Avenger compound, the techno suits, all the high-tech gear, and most importantly, the people. Everyone worked together like a well-oiled machine. Everyone had their differences but with just a little compromise and communication, everyone could work together in harmony.

Each person had different qualities they brought to the group: Natasha and her Red Room training, Steve and the serum, Bucky and his arm, Wanda and her abilities, Bruce and his alter ego, Tony and his brain, even Thor and his hammer. You, on the other hand, didn't have much to bring. While your fighting skills were excellent, and you could easily hack into most places, you didn't have any serums or powers. Everyone else had something going for them, except for you.

That didn't stop the public from loving you and cheering you on. They saw your worth when you couldn't. One other person that saw your worth was Thor. You two got along great, but he wished it could be something more. Despite his title and the many women on Asgard, he wasn't really great when trying to ask someone out. He tried to be near you whenever possible, but he could never form the words when he wanted to talk about you and him as something more.

You didn't see why he liked you; you were nothing special. You didn't even know he liked you as more than a friend. Instead, he sat back and admired you from afar, despite his brother's many efforts to get him to talk to you.

Because of Tony's annual party that involved all the Avengers, Thor had a reason to ask you out. Tony liked to be the center of attention (shocker, right?) and to do so, he threw a big party to celebrate all that he and the Avengers had accomplished. Only "important" people were allowed to come, and each year, you saw the crowd outside get bigger and bigger.

You enjoyed these parties because you liked meeting new people. The food was amazing, and sometimes, you got to demonstrate your abilities for the people who cared. Tony, being the extra man that he was, brought all his suits to show off to the people who wished they were him. Tony had a vanity problem, but he was a good guy. Everyone on the team was good people, do you didn't mind going to these things.

The only problem was finding something to wear. Money wasn't the thing you worried about; Tony always gave you money for the things you wanted. It was finding the right dress with the right shoes and then doing the perfect hairdo and fixing the perfect makeup look. Your looks are something you take pride in, so you wanted to look good for this event.

Tony had been ready for a while and decided to go down to the place where the party was to set up and do whatever he wanted to do. Bruce, being the shy person he was, didn't want to go to these things in fear of the other guy showing up. Wanda and Natasha were getting ready together and offered you to join them but you refused. You got stressed easily and you didn't want them seeing you like how you were now. Thor had invited his brother, but the party scene was never Loki's style. He opted to stay on Asgard for a quiet evening. Steve and Bucky were easy-going people, and it didn't take long for them to get ready, so they joined Tony. That just left you, in your bathroom, almost crying over your makeup.

The dress you picked out fit perfectly, hugging all of your curves in just the right places. The dress was backless, giving whoever looked at you a nice peek at your silky skin. You couldn't wear a bra with the dress, but that was okay since you had big enough boobs to hold the dress up. Your strappy heels complemented the dress perfectly and the up-do you gave yourself, made your neck stand out. Because you felt bare, you wore a simple necklace; you never liked anything too extravagant. Everything was perfect, except your makeup.

For the life of you, you couldn't seem to do a winged-eye look. The blush looked innocent enough, the lipstick felt fierce, the eyeshadow was mysterious, it was the damn wings that you had trouble on. Being careful not to mess up everything else, you carefully slid the eyeliner pen across your eyelid. That part was fine, it was the part of actually curving it that you sucked at. Putting a piece of tape by your eye, you swiped the pen on the edge, but when you took the tape off, it looked terrible.

Cursing at the pen, you threw it in the skin and cursed some more. You were on the verge of crying when you heard his voice. Thor had been roaming the tower, looking for you. He had finally gotten the courage to ask you to the party when he heard your shout of frustration. Following your curse words, he walked to the bathroom. He stopped short when he saw how beautiful you were.

The dress did wonders to your body, your back made him a little jealous because other people would be seeing it, you looked elegant and he was star-struck. Then, reality hit him in the face when he heard you sigh deeply.

"Are you okay?" you looked up and saw Thor standing by the door, watching you with careful eyes.

"No, I'm not okay," you huffed. "I spent hours finding the perfect dress, shoes, and hairstyle, only to be stuck on this stupid winged-eye look." Thor just stood there when a smile broke out on his face, and he let out a soft chuckle. "Thor, this isn't funny."

"I'm sorry, I know. May I help?" he asked, walking further into the bathroom.

"Unless you can do a killer wing, I don't think so."

"May I try?" he asked as he picked up the eyeliner pen from the sink. Staring at the pen, you moved your gaze to his eyes. What was the harm in letting him try? He may actually succeed.

"You know what? Go for it," you turned to face him just as he sat in front of you. Looking at the counter, he picked up a Q-tip, dipped it in the make-up remover, and wiped your work away. Making sure not to ruin your eyeshadow, he cleaned off the area before getting to work.

"Thanks for doing this," you whispered, staring into his eyes.

"You're welcome, but I do need you to close your eyes," he smiled and paid close attention to detail. Closing them, you let him do whatever he wanted to do. You just hoped it looked good. Thor concentrated really hard, hoping you would say yes to going with him to the party. He knew you were going regardless, but he hoped you would be his date. Quickly finishing up on one eye, he moved to the next, doing exactly what he did with the first one.

"Okay, I'm done," he said and capped the pen. Opening your eyes, you looked in the mirror and gasped. Your wings looked so flawless, it was like a professional did this.

"How did you do that? How are you so good?" you asked, looking at him in shock.

"Loki," he simply put and cleaned up your station. A bit confused by this, you didn't question it at all. You were just thankful it didn't look bad.

"Well, give my thanks to Loki because damn, this is really good," you smiled and stood up, helping Thor clean your mess.

"I actually had other intentions for coming here," Thor admitted, looking at you. Stopping your actions, you turned to face him.

"And what would those intentions be?"

"I, uh, wanted to ask you if you wanted to, uh, be my date... for Tony's party," Thor gulped and fiddled with his hands, suddenly nervous about your answer. You had to bite back a smile because he was too cute. Ever since you met him, you've had a crush on the God, but had been too chicken to do anything about it.

"Thor?" you reached forward and grabbed his hands to stop him from fiddling them. "I would love to be your date."

"This is good news," he said with a big smile.

"I guess so, but I do have a question for you," you started, trailing off as you walked out of the bathroom with Thor following you. "You could have picked Natasha or Wanda or literally any other woman in the world, and you choose me? Why?"

"I find you more important than any of those other women. I've liked you for a while, I just didn't know how to approach you about it."

"Well," you grabbed his arm and kept your hand on his elbow, "I can safely say that I like you too. I'm glad you asked me. Otherwise, I'd have to endure all the men Tony would set me up with."

"Come, Lady Y/N, let us have a wonderful evening," Thor smiled and led you out of your room. Giggling, you loved how he talked. He was always so proper, but you loved that about him.
