"Dude, just go talk to her." Ned urged his friend.

"No, she won't say yes. Forget about it." Peter shook his head with a sigh. He watched you approach your locker with one of your friends. You and Peter have known each other since 7th grade and even though you were friends, he's had a crush on you since he laid eyes on you in the first place.

You two weren't best friends but you two talked in class and hung out at lunch since you were friends with Ned and MJ. You had your own "clique" and Peter had his but you liked to hang with him. He was cute and extremely smart. Lately, you've been thinking about asking him out but you didn't know how he would react. You were a confident girl so it's not like you were nervous about it or anything.

You just thought Peter wouldn't go for someone like you. Despite MJ repeatedly telling you how much Peter has a crush on you, it still held you back from getting what you really wanted. Peter was just the kind of guy who was generous, always helping others, always making you smile and laugh and just had a good heart. It was hard to find someone like Peter and you knew you had to snatch him up before someone else did it for you.

Peter, on the other hand, knew you wouldn't go for someone like him. You were just so beautiful and confident and he was average and clumsy. When he wasn't wearing his Spiderman costume, he didn't have the confidence he would like to present to others. The only person who knew about his "other self", was Ned. He wanted to tell you since he's heard you speak of Spiderman so fondly but he knew Tony would get pissed at him.

He just wanted to make you happy and you just wanted to make him happy.

"Seriously, when are you going to ask him out?" MJ asked you as you put your books in your locker.

"MJ, not so loud, okay? He's standing right over there... no, don't look!" You nudged her shoulder and she laughed, leaning against the lockers next to you.

"Come on, it's not like you're scared to do it."

"You're right, I'm not scared."

"Then what's holding you back?"

"He's not going to go for someone like me. I don't regularly hang out with him. I just talk to him in class and in the halls." You shrugged.

"Yeah, and you sit with him at lunch and you walked him home once. Come on, I'm not falling for that bullshit."

"Michelle. Okay, fine, how about this? He doesn't know me. I don't fully know him. He probably has this huge secret that no one knows about and it might scare me away."

"Yeah, because all 15-year-old boys hide bodies in their basement." MJ scoffed.

"I didn't say he hid bodies. I'll do it when I'm ready, okay? You happy with that?" You shook your head with a smile.

"Better do it fast. I overheard Liz saying she was thinking of asking him out."

"What? She's a senior and he's a sophomore!" You pouted.
