The sounds of soldiers shouting and marching from afar alerted Jonathan that he would never be alone. Standing tall at the peak of the waterfalls by Deminus's family mansion, Jon stared at the sight of Carson barking orders at his loyal soldiers. They stood in line, listening carefully to every command Carson provided them with. Jon made out the silhouette of his favourite disciple. It had been a waste. No matter how close their relationship was, Jon knew that family often comes first. He never had a chance to understand its deeper meaning, but Jon learned them from Angelo. He sighed, stepping deeper into the tall bushes to hide from the soldiers.

"How long are we going to be here, Jon?" Bria questioned, standing loyally next to Jon with a dagger gripped firmly within her palms.

"Until Carson's army is gone. We need to get Ansel out of the mansion and back on Earth. Have you alert the rest of the team?" Jon questioned immediately, turning to face Bria, studying the fear she had been trying to mask ever since he selected her to fight alongside him.

"I did. Edrei is summoning and luring Snowbreaker back home," Bria answered, keeping her eyes fixated on the mansion where soldiers began marching out of it according to Carson's command. "You know how hard it is to charm her when her owner is not around."

Jon shrugged, pressing his lips into a thin line and lifted his shoulders high.

"I never had to deal with her. Angelo banned me from even looking at her because she would kill me immediately. Have I told you the story where she almost ate me alive?" Jonathan questioned in whispers with a wide smirk and chuckled. "It is a miracle that Edrei and you could handle her."

Bria smiled. They set their eyes on the mansion, watching each and every movement of Carson's selected soldiers. Jon was not surprised to see guardians from different categories. He knew some obliged because of deals while some worshipped Carson more than their own section. Jon would not have taken the risk to sneak around the mansion if it wasn't for the plan Lithius had proposed. He sighed, studying young and teenage soldiers joining Carson's side. There is a reason for everything and Jon wished that none of the younger generations will be sacrificed in this combat. He stayed silent by bush with Bria, waiting for the right time to sneak into the mansion.

Ansel watched Angelo smiled. His lips curved upwards naturally unlike the one she encountered before. Still holding the branch tight in her grip, she watched the other pocketing the weapon into his trousers. Scanning to the bottom of his feet, Ansel could not see the shoe he was wearing. It felt as if he had been floating from the ground, but when Angelo moved, he seemed to be walking. Ansel smiled, taking a few steps forward and clutched the other tightly in her embrace, breathing in the scent of wet grass surrounding them despite the now basking sunlight.

"What are you doing here, Angelo? This is not a safe place for you. You are going to be killed by your other self if you stay here longer," Ansel said, untangling herself from the hug to study his features and brushed those locks away from his forehead. "You need to go back."

"Go back?" Angelo questioned, his arms clutched tight against her arms to steady Ansel. "I am not going back without you. The longer I am letting you in here, the more danger you are exposed to. This is a dream, Ansel. You have to wake up. Carson has put you into the world of dreams to trap you in here as long as he wants. I need you to wake up and once you do, we will get you back home."

"I know, Angelo. I know," Ansel said with a heavy sigh. "I know I have to wake up, but each time I found an opening, a bright light, I am tossed into another world. The only difference I can make out is that the people Carson created has feet and we don't."
