Angelo growled when Carson tightened his grip around his shoulders, the elder hovering over him and pressed his thumb into Angelo's bleeding neck. He heaved, sucking in a large amount of air and focused his strength on his leg muscles before kicking Carson away. Angelo pulled himself up, supporting his weight with his sword. He glared at the elder, hating the smirk on his face and at that moment, Angelo wanted nothing more than to wipe off Carson's existence.

Staring right into Carson's eyes, Angelo recalled the pain his elder brother had inflicted in his life. He wiped away the blood from his lips, swallowing the metallic liquid in his throat. Angelo knew that no matter what happened, he wasn't going to let go of his sword. Even if his body would be torn with major cuts, Angelo was aware that the sword would be the only equipment that could bring down his arrogant brother. Before he could make his next move, Carson pounced onto him again like a hungry lion, his sharp fingernails trailed across Angelo's chin. The sword sprung free from his grip.

"You did not see this coming, did you, Angelo?" Carson questioned, lifting his sword and ran the tip of it along Angelo's chest, cutting his silver armour off. "You are always so eager to defeat someone out of your league. Did you not count the probability of success when you come up here little brother? What makes you think you can defeat me when Lithius himself disappeared from our site? An insect like you is not capable of killing me."

Angelo stiffened his scream the minute Carson landed his sword onto the tip of his left-wing. It sliced through the core of his wings. Angelo hissed, tossing his head to the side to prevent his brother from getting the satisfaction of his pain. Reaching out, Angelo gripped tightly onto the sword and without warning, he dragged it close to himself and plunged it into Carson's torso. Even with the tip of it sunk between Carson's heart, Angelo did not stop.

The scent of Carson's burning metallic blood pierced through his nose. He grinned, his eyes turned dark and smirked. Pushing the sword further up, Angelo heard Carson's bones cracked from within. Angelo used his remaining strength to pull himself away from Carson's still body. His dark eyes met those orange orbs that were similar to the flares of the Sun. Angelo's lips sealed shut even though he was dying to celebrate the victory.

"This is not the end, Angelo. You'll never escape pain in your life," Carson broken laughed echoed in his ears and gripped onto Angelo's shoulders, burning it with his remaining magic. "You'll bear a terrible curse for eternity. You will never be able to return to your birthplace with your gifts fully replenish unless you found someone from the mortal lands who will love you faithfully for the real you. The angel you. It's a curse you will bear and remember me by, Angelo. And you will lose."

With that being said, Carson's body dropped limp on the ground immediately. The pain on his neck disappeared and Angelo fell alongside with a thud. Gently, he pushed himself up, the burning sting slowly ceased off, leaving a scar.

When a guardian reached out to help him up, he hissed, scooting himself backwards. He did not need their pity. This was his choice. Standing up, he prepared himself to return to the cave only to notice the feathers on his wings fell one by one. He laughed, betraying the pain in his heart. Gazing at the green forest opposite him, Angelo sucked in the warm air as the sun basked against the glory halls. For once, he felt bliss just by looking at the emptiness of the forest.

"Angelo!" the repetitive shouts pierced through the silence, followed by tiny footsteps echoing from the golden door. "Angelo! I saw..."

Angelo chuckled, wiping the dried blood from his lips.

"It's a little too late, child," Angelo stated, a wide smile formed the minute he landed his eyes on him. When the child pressed his lips into a thin line, tears clouding his sight, Angelo stepped forward and pulled him into a tight hug. "It's alright. You are still learning how to use your visions. Do not beat yourself up about it."
