Thunders rumbled across the skies mercilessly. The trees swayed crazily along the streets as droplets of rain washed the mud away from the sidewalks. A black umbrella was tight in his palms as he paced towards the pastel blue house. The garden was filled with bougainvillae bushes ranging from the colours of yellow, white, pink and purple. He tapped his fingers gently at the edge of his coat. Despite the harsh wind, the umbrella in his palms managed to stay still. He steadied himself, letting the water to wet the edge of his grey slacks before heading over to the fence, unlocking it easily.

His blonde hair outshined the brown door as he gave a gentle knock on it. Shutting the umbrella, he slipped it into the vase and adjusted the collar of his coat to make himself presentable. Everything around him seemed to be falling into his plan. He never thought Earth could be a dazzling place to live.

Even though there were no golden buildings like home, he felt peace because no one would succumb to his feet to join forces. He knew that there were only a few choices back home. Either you submit yourself to the most powerful entity or be prepared to be a slave for the highest authority.

That was his point of view, and nothing seemed to be changing his mind about it.

"Carson," Ethan exclaimed, staring at the elder with widen eyes. "You never gave me a memo that you will be visiting. My family and I are currently having dinner. Do you..."

Carson groaned, pushing the younger to the side as he removed his coat, and tossed it towards Ethan. Inside, the warmth from the oversized glass chandelier in the middle comforted his icy soul. He could hear the clanging of forks and spoons against the porcelain bowls. Ignoring the noise, he turned around to face Ethan, who stood frozen in his spot. He studied the boy closely, pressing his index finger onto his lips before lifting his chin. Carson stared right into Ethan's eyes only to smell fear reeking all over his pathetic human shell.

"Did you meet the girl?" Carson asked, rolling up his sleeves and kicked his boots off. "Hurry up. Answer me. I still have plans for tonight. Also, I am joining your family for dinner so why don't you come along and cut the dilly-dallying."

"I met Ansel today as expected, but I am still curious, what are you planning for her?" Ethan questioned curiously, heading towards the dining room with Carson. "As you said, she is just a normal human and..."

A bright light blinded Ethan's sight the minute Carson stopped his tracks. Carson had his palms on his chest, golden linings flowing from Ethan's body into his. The once dark eyeballs turned orange like the morning sun. Carson's lips curved up into a smirk, feeling his celestial power multiply at Ethan's loyalty towards him. It felt like strong electric currents jolting up his weary system. With the help and perseverance from the Ru family, Carson was positive that his energy will be replenished in within days.

Once he was done, Carson retracted his palms from Ethan's body, patting the boys on his shoulders to dim the light. Shaking off the sparkling magic from his fingers, Carson grinned. He rolled his right-hand fingers inwards and channelled some of the inner energy into a ball.

Carson's teeth bore hungrily, a wide hungry smirk on his lips before he dragged Ethan along to the dining room. Vincent and his wife didn't seem too happy about it when they noticed Ethan's swaying and pale figure. He promised the couple that he would not harm their son as long as he gets what he wants. Settling Ethan down on the chair, Carson took his seat next to Vincent.

"Your daughter is doing quite well alone," mocked Carson, reaching out to detach the chicken leg from its body and added. "I've seen children who crumble the minute their parents abandoned them. Ansel, she's different. It would be fun if I could get her loyalty. My soul would replenish in seconds, better than anyone of you in this room," Carson continued to muse when he noticed the wife's disgusted and unpleasant features. "Unluckily she is not, so I can only depend on you three witty humans who cannot even show me one hundred per cent loyalty. Safe to say you don't deserve this wealth as much as I think you do."
