The ticking clock sent chills to his spine while he kept his eyes static on the mirror in front of him. It had been exactly seven days and fourteen hours Ansel disappeared and Jonathan left the surface of the Earth. Jonathan did not leave him any messages since his last visit so the agitation added up in his mind. He licked his lips, reaching out to wipe off the crooked symbol from the corner of the mirror.

With Lily still recovering in the hospital, Angelo tried his best to keep a healthy mind throughout the process of running the café and figuring out the right symbols for his wobbly plans. All he hoped now was for Jonathan to be safe because the younger is his ultimate news reporter. No one else on Halion would be willing to take up Jon's position for now because of the risk he had to bear. Reaching out to pick the towel from his chair, Angelo headed towards the bathroom to clean himself up.

Ansel's absence constantly reminded him of what a failure he is. Due to his inability of returning to Halion, he constantly prayed for Jonathan's safety as the boy worked his way around the now menacing area. There had been days he forced himself to eat and drink so that his housemates did not worried about his constant seclusion.

Letting the cold water run across his spine, Angelo replayed the symbols that he had drawn in the mirror. Even with the silver-blue book leading his way, he felt lost within. Something seemed to be off as he traced those patterns on the walls of his bathroom. Had this been one of the consequences of becoming human? The knowledge of Halion began to disappear from his memory. Just a few days ago, he forgot the spell he once familiarized himself with for three centuries. Is this a part of the process of becoming human? Would he forget his friends and Halion's golden skies and warmth that showered away his miseries?

Angelo pushed the thoughts away. Those were not his main concern. He needed to search for Ansel and bring her back to the rightful universe. He should not have put her into this trouble. Angelo began to felt that his love for her seemed a little too selfish. The girl could be possibly living a happy life if he had not been so persistent in chasing after her. Sighing, he dried his body, closed the tap and put on a pair of comfortable clothing. Angelo draped the towel along his shoulders, studying the symbols closely again. He picked up the book, studying the symbols attentively and then proceeded in wiping off the mistake by the edge of the crooked octagon.

He fixated his dark eyes on the small neat platter by his bed. Countless times, he was drawn to call out for Ansel's soul, but without his magic, he couldn't perform the tiny art meticulously. He did not want to cause a rupture between two universes, so he had to be careful with all of his choices. Burying his head in between his trembling palms, Angelo gritted his teeth tightly. With every passing moment, his desire to rescue Ansel grew higher. Stretching his body on the bed, Angelo tugged the blanket close to his chest only to hear the sound of someone knocking on his door.

"Angelo," Jiang said, the minute the door swung open gently, allowing the wisp of cold air to sweep past his cheeks. "There is someone here to visit you. He's wearing a hooded cloak and refused to give me a name. He insisted on talking to you first so I am going to need you to verify his existence before I allow a mysterious man to enter my home."

Angelo's brows furrowed at the words. The only person who had this address would be Jonathan, but Angelo was certain the Jonathan would have introduced himself politely to Jiang. He gave the younger this address just in case Halion is at the edge of extinction. Even though it seemed like it might be, Jonathan knew well not to visit this home because of the dangers it could bring. Shutting the bedroom door, Angelo headed towards the living room where Annika was standing next to the door. Her palms clutched tightly onto the broom she held. The minute Angelo stepped closer, the mystery figure removed his hood, revealing the light purple hair and beautiful amethyst eyes. He froze in his step, watching the elder smile warmly at his presence.
