Dreams will always become reality the second you open your heart to all the possibilities in the universe. Desperate to get out of her chaotic life, Ansel Ru finds herself wrapped in between dimensions. With Angelo hiding behind her shadows through...
Towers painted in varying colours shone under the glory of the sun. Blossoming flowers withered, permitting their petals to be freed from their confinements while innocent young guardians stuck their heads curiously out of their shelters to watch the peculiar situation. The Sun glowed brightly against the ruptured grey skies, bringing a beautiful contrast to it. Double rainbow disappeared as the colour bags of dust withered onto Halion's ground. Murmurs were heard from the windows, young guardians from various entities discussed the fallen rainbows that once was a sign of their freedom. Carson's armies flittered their ways towards the assigned towers. Each armed with their specialized weapons. Those who struggled against their grip were ordered to be slaughtered immediately.
Jon landed himself atop a cyan tower, scanning across the surroundings. Carson's selected armies swarmed their way hastily towards their citizens. He could swear he noticed the Blossom angel taking Carson's side and if that wasn't madness, Jon spotted him bringing along a guardian who had barely reached a hundred. He scowled on his own, thinking about the madness that ran between their veins. His wings twitched at the thought, itching to head over and snatch the guardian away from this conflict. This is madness. Putting guardians and angels against each other when some are from the same entity proved how much Halion's sovereignty has fallen since Angelo's disappearance. They needed a leader to restructure the seats, but no one dared to step up, including him.
Had he participated in the selfish bubble since Angelo's parting with him?
Shaking those thoughts away from him, Jon swopped down towards one of his acquaintances, signalling for them to protect the innocents. He would fight, not just to restore Halion, but to protect the lives of those who knew nothing about this battle. They do not deserve this. The chaos that had been passed down from generations. Pulling one of the golden daggers tied firmly across his belt, Jon dove. He landed behind a soldier, the tip of the dagger piercing deep within her left wing. The soldier's grip was free from a struggling child, so Jon pushed him to the corner before dragging the soldier with him. She grunted at his actions, brown eyes staring at him with anger while the knife on her palms was forced towards his direction. Immediately, Jon let her go, soaring upwards as he watched her slammed against the statue below her. He flinched at the sight. She would be able to survive it, but her wings could take a long time to mend.
"Jonathan," Carson called out, emerging from the nearest tower and chuckled at the younger. "You never quit, do you? Even when all odds are on my side, you are so loyal towards Angelo? Where is he? Did he plan on ditching you all now after so much sacrifice to bring him back? Do you think he is going to be here for you? Or for any of them if that matters? It is so much better for you and your little colony to submit to me. This way you are all free from my tortures. No war, just peace, under my ruling. Why suffer, Jonathan, when freedom is all you can have?"
"Freedom?" Jon laughed, flicking his dagger to remove the blood from it. "There is no freedom under your roof, Carson. You stooped so low that none of us with a right mind would follow you. Why would you desire the whole of Halion when being the guardian of the Sun could lead you to be a supreme leader during rotation? I don't understand."
Carson cackled at the words. His orange eyes pierced through Jonathan's gaze. The sound of swords clanging echoed behind him. Spreading his orange wings, he flew forward, brushing his fingers on his fair skin and shook his head.
"You, a disciple whom Angelo treasures so much would never understand the feeling of being cast aside. You are right. I was once the best among the guardians of the Sun. Then, came Angelo, a student who is so bright that everyone favours his presence more than me. Despite him being such an anti-social. I would not be bothered so much if the angel did not provoke me," Carson said in gritted teeth, staring at Jon, causing the younger to flew a little backwards, arms up, ready in defence. "With your brother here, Carson, he said right to my face, you won't stand a chance to be an angel. He is more capable than you."
Jon silenced himself for Carson's eyes were widened as if they were about to pop like a bomb. It must have been terrible to not be looked up to when once you were a star, but Angelo wasn't just anyone. They were siblings and they still are.
"Your angel did not provoke you. You are just weak," Jon said, palms tightening on his dagger. "Instead of striving to be better, you took an easy path. A path with greed. No one is to be blamed for your choices, Carson. You made a choice on your own. No one forced you to it. You cannot put the blame on anyone except yourself."
Carson rolled his eyes at those words and Jon knew it won't be long before the elder would attack. Behind him, two soldiers of his own flew closer, spears in their palms. Jon watched Carson did not budge from his spot. His teeth glistened when they were wide open. Making large circles with his palms, Carson managed to summon large energy within his palms and the beam of light flashed upwards, blinding everyone from their sight. Jon retreated further from his spot together with his soldiers, pinching his nose at the scent of ancient sun dusts piercing through his senses. He covered his eyes from the light only to hear the sound of roaring beasts. Quickly, they dispersed from their positions, each landing gracefully at the tip of the tower to regain their sight.
His powers glowed luminously. Two red tigers made their way into the scene. They had large wings, covering almost the width of two towers. Jon gritted his teeth at the sight. These creatures can only be summoned by an angel's magic. Carson wasn't the closest thing to one, so he must have gotten some help. He scanned his surroundings till he noticed the Blossom angel standing still below Carson. The pink crystallite in her palms shattered onto the ground slowly, seeping through the soil while her legs melted into a puddle of transparent liquid, serving as nutrients to the grass. Jon shivered at the sight. He never knew the Blossom angel for she lived within the flower gardens that shy away from every being from the realm of the angel of the Dead. Males would always laugh at her when they conversed through special support. Still, it wasn't worth sacrificing for Carson. Not in his testimony.
Carson had been using Halion's resources in the worst way possible. The second Carson shut the portal, Jon signalled with a swipe of his fingers in the air that emitted dark sparkles which formed the sign of a large sword, bursting into different directions. From after, his soldiers flew towards Carson's selected soldiers, bringing them down one by one. He would deal with the tigers that seemed to be having too much fun injuring one of the guardians. These tigers were devoted creatures. It was such a shame to deploy them for wrong choices. Blocking a blast of light that Carson executed on him, Jon steadied himself from the force only to see the elder disappeared from his sight.
Jon flew a little higher, avoiding an attack from one of the guardians of the Sea from behind. Daggers out from his belt, blocking the other's sword from reaching his shoulders. He grunted at the strong force, ready to push it forward, but stopped. Instead, he allowed the sword to reach closer to his face, flew to the right and left an injury on the guardian's neck. Jon kicked him, taking it as an extra boost for him to fly higher.
"Jon!" Cora, the guardian of the Land called out breathlessly. Her face and arms had wounds from the battle while her palms clutch tight on her chakras. "We can't defeat them all alone. The tigers are under Carson's command. We can only lure them away. I am in no position to question, but is Angelo coming? We need him, Jonathan. All of us."
Jonathan squeezed his lips into a thin line, acknowledging Cora's truthful words. He looked around at the tired guardians. Despite being worn out and injured, they did not retreat from their fight in protecting what they believe. It is true that battlefields are not the perfect place in training his soldiers, though he once held strongly on the idea. The guardians struggled in their positions. Jon met Cora's aqua-coloured eyes and reached out gently to squeeze her shoulders gently.
"He'll be here," Jon assured, sucking in the foul scent of air around them. "Give him a little more time. I promise you on his behalf that he will be here."
