The rainbow lights blinked rhythmatically according to the buttons pressed by Faris. His continuous harsh pressing on the button resulted in a couple of fused lights. Ansel tried warning him about the possibilities earlier, but he was too tied up in the fun to bother, and now the lad had been trying to hide from Miss Anong. She could not help but sympathize with Faris when Miss Anong sternly nagged the boy, forcing him to drive to the nearest supermarket to get a new set. Deep down, she had been laughing, but she had to maintain a calm exterior from becoming the next prey. If anything Ansel had learnt from working with this team, it was not to mess with Miss Anong about her lights. Picking up the set of papers next to her, Ansel headed towards the nearest tent to count the number of goody bags they prepared earlier in the morning. She tied the yellow ribbons next to the cards to add some texture to the dull bag. Of course, chitter chatters were no exceptions in this environment.

"Did you hear about what happened to the Ru company?" One of the volunteers who joined their team questioned, fingers rubbed against the shredded papers that caused a sickening sound to her ear. "It was such a reputable company and I never would have thought they would be involved in such huge forgery and bribery issues."

Ansel watched the birds flew past her, sighing internally at the choice of topic. Could they not pick a more interesting topic to speak of? Perhaps the topic of how scientists should create a portal and swallow up unwanted people from Earth to feed the creatures from the other universes. Or, maybe, the topics on the new event they will be having at the beginning of a new year. The world has many issues, yet, this was the one she had to listen through.

"You never know what's going on in such a huge company. I heard that the family has always been rich and you never know what goes on internally among them," The other answered casually, pulling out elements from inside the box. "But, when Ethan showed up the other day at our university, I knew something was wrong. Do you know how many times we tried to interact with the company for sponsors? The only response was nothing. Not even a reply. And, out of nowhere, Ethan showed up, doubling up the amount of sponsorship without any paperwork. I heard Crystal asking for a letter from him. He only replied with nothing except for a verbal confirmation that their company was willing to help."

"That's something fishy for sure. Even we have to sign papers to prove our loyalty to this team," The volunteer replied.

"How bad is the situation exactly?" Ansel heard Kabir asked.

"Don't you watch the news?"

"I don't," Kabir answered, pushing his curly locks backwards gracefully. "I live with a frog. Besides, I am not interested in these issues. I am a sports guy."

"Yeah, sports guy, you would be interested in it, if your parents invested in their company," Ana said, stopping her work to wipe her sweat. "Lucky for us, my parents stopped being their stakeholders multiple years back. They never trusted the company ever since his wife passed away. Mother said the only thing that made the company ever so reputable was his wife. Besides, imagine having a father who doesn't care about her daughter. I cannot imagine living under the same roof with someone who would not consider my interests. There must be a lot of pressure."

"Speaking of that, I never heard anything about his daughter. It almost feels like she vanished alongside her mother. What do you think happened to her?" Jean questioned curiously.

"Maybe she is in a better place?" Ana replied. "I never saw her before. Though my father did mention her because he was amazed by how active the daughter was. She was everywhere. There was once where she climbed up to the edge of the escalator rails."

"Then, we can assume that she could have died by now. Fallen to death perhaps?" Kabir questioned darkly, almost snickering and added. "That could save the world from troubles."
