Guardians whispered from their seats, watching Angelo taking his place on the main seat. His jet black eyes scanned the surroundings, making sure that everyone written in the list had attended. Setting his magic on the table, the insignia projected the agenda he set for the day. Mainly, there were four sessions he will handle, including an open session for any angels or guardians to propose their ideas. Angelo watched Lithius stood up untangling a new batch of scrolls from the cupboard and brought it towards the table with a set of writing equipment that was adorned with golden linings. All eyes set on the elder as he took his seat opposite Angelo, pen in between his fingers, ready to write the verdict of the meeting. Once he had gotten assurance from Lithius, Angelo nodded, scanning the angels who set their eyes on him.
"Fellow angels and guardians, thank you for attending this assemblage. As written on the scrolls I sent to each section two days ago, there are changes I would like to propose to restore Halion's sovereignty and peace. I don't see the need to delay this important issue, thus, I would start today's discussion with the issue of electing a new angel of the Sun among the guardians," Angelo spoke, turning his head to the group of guardians of the Sun who sat on his right. "Haru, can you update me on the nominees I have requested?"
It wasn't hard to distinguish the Sun section. They all had bright yellow and orange wings that mirror the colour of the Sun. These are permanent guardians, unlike those who had chosen that section. Hearing the other guardians whispered, the angels shifted their heads to watch a young boy stood up from his seat. For someone so young, Angelo saw the new scar on his neck that dotted till his shoulders. He watched Haru walked to the front, standing in front of his section to represent them in confidence.
"Did you specifically chose him?" Chasina question, irritation forming in her voice.
"No, I did not," Angelo answered calmly, lifting up an orange scroll embellished with a sun symbol at its corner. "Haru provided me with feedback yesterday evening. I do not make decisions for another section, if that is what you meant to question, Chasina."
Haru bowed at the angels.
"After much consideration among my division, we came up with two ultimate nominees," Haru announced.
"So, there are two," Winda cut in, picking on her nails. "And, history repeats itself."
The angel of the Moon clearly wasn't planning on setting a good example for her guardians. The last thing Angelo needed is to have an angel accumulating histories that can be undone. Histories needed to learn to prevent more mistakes, but one does not need to retell if they do not have good intentions.
"There is no need for such judgement, Winda. This is a formal assembly. You do not have to speak ill of others when you are not perfect yourself," Lithius mused, staring at the angel whose white hair outshine the colour of her cyan eyes.
"It is best for the angels to remain silent when someone is speaking. If you desire for this assemblage to end earlier, then you should hold your tongue, especially when you have nothing nice to speak about the others," Angelo conveyed, staring at the angels surrounding him and softened his gaze at Haru. "Haru, please continue."
"The sun section has one main rule for a guardian to be selected as an angel which is going through three major trials that involve, loss, death and guilt. Through this, we came up with two, Aelia and Sophia," Haru proclaimed, turning to assure the two selected guardians to stand and added. "However, according to the official selections we once had, Aelia was chosen alongside Carson. Most of us has selected Aelia, but the decision is up to the angels. That is all from me."
Angelo thanked Haru, watching Aelia and Sophia giving each other a fist bump. He noticed Arnav holding up her arms in respect. On land, she appeared human than she was supposed to be. Her blue hair braided neatly just above her neck. A colourful seashell was pinned at the corner of her ear, showing off the insignia she claimed for her own section a few centuries ago. Angelo acknowledged her interest, giving her permission to address her decision.
