They arrive at no other than the ice skating rink, one of Hailey's favourite places. She taught Jack how to skate in this same exact place, although he's not actually got good at it, he improved much more than he started.
He likes to blame the face he doesn't have an ice skaters body. It's true, but she found it funny to watch him sliding along the cold ice.
"I'll do it for you." He smiles, getting out of the car, Hailey following.
"You're coming here, willingly?"
"Yes." Jack takes her hand in his, leading them both inside.
He pays for their entrance, going to collect the correct fitting ice skating boots.
"Ready?" Hailey asks, looking at the nervous expression on Jack's face.
"No, i'm not ready. Hailey it's as terrifying as it was the first time, i'm no ice skater."
"Come on, it'll be alright. Take my hand." She offers a hand out to him which Jack takes.
Hailey slowly backs them onto the ice, Jack biting his bottom lip nervously.
"Hold the edge." She instructs, Jack letting go of her and immediately grabbing onto the side.
Jack watches as the girl effortlessly skates along, keeping her balance perfectly, grabbing onto his arms again.
"Watch my feet and copy them. You'd think i never taught you this before."
"Why don't i just watch you?" Jack suggests, smiling sheepishly.
"No." Hailey laughs. "You're thinking about it too much."
Hailey let's go, standing just in front of him to support him if he happens to fall, clearly ignoring the fact she would not be able to support his entire weight.
Jack moves towards her slowly, practically walking on the ice, wobbling with each step.
Hailey grew up ice skating, meaning she gained quite a talent.
Her and Declan picked a sport they'd like to do, Declan clearly chose football but Hailey chose ice skating along with netball.
"Jack, you need to glide, you're just standing on it."
"I'm not a professional."
"Just glide, push your foot forward."
Jack does, he manages to do it a few times, until he got too excited and fell straight down, groaning.
"Shit." He mumbles, sitting up, the ice beginning to dampen his clothes.
Hailey takes his hand, dragging him up.
"Right, watch." She sets Jack over at the side, skating around slightly, showing Jack what he should be doing.
"I'm gonna get injured."
"But i want to skate with you." She pouts, taking Jack's hands into her own.
"Don't pull that face at me."
"Please, just try a bit more." Hailey pleads.
"Alright."
Jack sighs, taking himself back onto the surface, holding Hailey's hand for added support.
After half an hour, he begins to get more of the hang of it, yet still slightly just stepping.
Since they only payed for an hour, their time is up soon, so they make the most of it, Hailey dragging Jack around the whole rink, keeping him close to the rails to avoid him getting in anyone's way.
