After the night was done yesterday, Jack decided to stay at Hailey's, still laying in her bed now.
In attempt to cheer him up, she decided to make him pancakes, what she knows that he loves, also making him his favourite coffee, which she always has for him.
Jack stumbles downstairs right on time, walking into the kitchen, rubbing his eyes from the light flooding in.
"Hey." He mumbles.
"Hey. I made you breakfast." She smiles pointing to the table.
She notices a small smile creep on Jack's face, one she feels she hasn't seen in a while.
"Thank you." Jack replies, kissing her forehead before taking a seat.
Hailey sits across from him, beginning to eat her food too.
"Feeling any better?"
"I'm fine, just disappointed." He shrugs.
"Well, cheer up because we're going away soon."
"Oh yeah, we leave Thursday."
Hailey nods along.
"I still can't believe we lost."
"World cup is soon. You'll be back before you know it."
"Yeah. I guess."
"Also, Maura told me to tell you that you played great."
"Tell her i said thanks." He replies, laughing a little bit. "I'm gonna shower, do you want to join?" He winks.
"Showered already." Hailey fake pouts.
Jack scoffs, rolling his eyes playfully before leaving to go upstairs and shower.
Declan announces his random arrival, going to find his sister in the kitchen who is tidying up.
"Hi." He takes a seat. "Is that pancakes, can i have some?"
"Yes, i'll make you some. Jack's showering. He'll be down soon."
"Okay. Mason's coming too."
"You know what, sometimes i feel like your mum." She laughs, making more pancake mix.
"You act like it."
"You act like you live here."
"Pretty much do." He shrugs.
Declan gets himself a plate and toppings he wants to put on his pancakes, boiling the kettle to make himself a drink.
"How are you feeling?"
"Uh, upset still but i mean we tried, i'd do it all over again if i could."
"Of course you would, but you played amazingly." She smiles, placing a pancake on his plate and making more.
"Thanks."
Hailey makes a pile of pancakes, knowing Mason will eat them too and now they have a break from football they can eat more relaxed.
Shortly after, Mason comes through the door, eyeing up the food before getting his own plate and eating.
Jack joins them downstairs after showering and getting ready.
"Oh, hi." He laughs, Mason and Declan eating their way through a stack of pancakes each. "You alright?"
"Would be better if we won." Mason replies, shrugging his shoulders.
"Yup." Jack sighs.
The four of them spend the day in Hailey's house, them all deciding they should have a sleepover, inviting some more of the team.
"I don't think they will all fit in my house."
"They can't all come anyway." Declan says with an obvious tone in his voice.
In the end, it ends up being Declan, Mason, Jack, Ben, John and Maura, who Hailey invited so she wouldn't be the only girl.
They all arrive roughly around the same time, bringing a bag each since they all decided to stay over.
Hailey greets them all with a hug, sitting on the sofa beside Jack afterwards.
They choose a movie, deciding on an Adam Sandler comedy because you can't go wrong that and everyone will like it.
Jack holds Hailey's hand, lightly tickling her arm also, laying his head as close to her as he can get.
Once the movie finishes, they stay up playing many different games, drinking a little bit, eating some snacks and enjoying each other's company.
It's times like this where you treasure your friendships the most.
Maura is also going to come on the holiday, since she has nothing better to do really.
They barely sleep, only getting a few hours before Mason and Ben do their usual things, waking everyone up in the worst way possible.
Hailey and Jack have water dumped on them.
Declan is woken up by a pot and a wooden spoon being hit together.
John is tickled. Which he absolutely despises being tickled.
And Maura, who got the worst of them all, is thrown straight into the pool.
"I hate you both, so much." She says, shaking her head at the pair laughing at her.
Everyone else can't help but let out a little giggle, the sight of her would make anyone laugh.
a/n: this is boring but i needed to do something before they go away
