Today, Hailey and Jack invited their friends out for dinner, since they feel as if they've sort of disconnected from them slightly.

The ones who will be coming are, Jack and Hailey, obviously, Declan, Mason, Maura, Jesse, Marcus, John, Kyle and Luke.

Hailey's sat at her dressing table, beginning on her makeup. Jack hasn't even started getting ready, he's still playing a game with Mason.

After she hears no sign of him getting ready she takes herself down to take off his headphones, he glances up at her from his game but quickly looking back.

"Mm?" He hums, questioning her actions.

"Go get ready."

"I will, just after this."

She shakes her head at him, but leaves, continuing getting ready as she does take the longest.

When she starts on her hair, she realises Jack still hasn't started getting ready. So, she takes herself back down to him.

"Jack."

He moves one side of his headset, keeping most of his attention still on the tv in front of him.

"What?"

"Can you go get ready, we're going soon."

"Yes, after this."

"I'm serious."

"I know and i said after this." He grumbles, looking up at the girl stood in front of him.

Sometimes, it feels like Hailey has a child, not a boyfriend. He has barley any time management and ends up making the both of them late, which usually ends up being the main cause of their arguments, which they then go out and have to pretend everything is okay.

Just as Hailey is finishing her hair, Jack finally brings himself into the bedroom, resting his head on her shoulder, leaving soft, sloppy kisses on her neck.

"Jack, no." She stands up, going to her dress she's left out, placing it on the bed.

"What?"

"What? I told you to get ready since we're going to end up being late and you just continued on your game. We don't have time to be messing around now."

"I'm not the one making us late, you are. I dont take hours to get ready."

"Okay, are you going to be ready in five minutes?"

"No."

"Exactly, i'm not arguing with you because it's a waste of time, just go get ready."

Jack does in fact begin to get ready, wearing a pair of black trousers and a polo shirt, Hailey wearing a black dress and red heels, since the place is quite fancy you might want to say.

He slicks his hair back in the mirror, Hailey waits in the doorway.

"Times ticking." She says, Jack looking over to her with his lips in a frown.

"Don't start. We will talk in the car i'm not going to that dinner in a bad mood."

Hailey decides to message in the group chat to see who's most likely going to be running slightly late, although she can probably guess.

She sends them the restaurant again, just to make sure they've all got the right place since some of them haven't been before.

Jack takes his seat in the drivers side, reversing out and beginning the way to the destination.

"The thing is, Hailey, we are going to be late sometimes-"

"Which is your fault." She cuts him off.

"It's not always my fault, is it? And don't cut me off, this is a conversation not an argument."

"Right, carry on then."

"I'm sorry, okay?"

"Alright..."

"Is that all you're going to say?"

"My apologies, do you want me to bow down for you?"

"You're trying to carry this on, if you want to have a shit evening then alright, we will." Jack shrugs, looking over at Hailey who's sat with her arms crossed, looking at him beside her.

"I don't want to."

"Okay, well you need to learn how to talk about your issues, you only do it when you want to and that's not how a relationship works, it's not going to work that way."

"So now you want to break up?" She almost laughs, turning to look out of the window next to her.

"No, i want you to talk to me." By the look on Hailey's face, she shows no sign on wanting to communicate with him.

Jack pulls over on a side road, Hailey looking at him in confusion.

"Hailes, talk to me."

Her body tenses at the nickname, secretly, she likes being called Hailes, Declan started saying it when they were kids and it's always kinda stuck with her.

"I just want you to manage your time better 'cause i'm bored of having to feel like your mother and tell you what to do all the time."

Jack nods, tapping his fingers on the steering wheel.

"Okay, i will. Is that it?"

Hailey nods, not having the energy to start an argument or ruin what should be a good night.

"Kiss me then." Jack grins.

"You'll get lipstick on your face."

"So?"

He leans in to cup her cheeks in his hand and pull her face towards his, allowing their previous moment to drown straight out of their thoughts and to focus on the good things.

Jack starts the car again, continuing their drive to the restaurant, not too far now so it only takes about ten more minutes.

When they pull up outside, they see a few of their friends cars and they're still sat inside them, Hailey notices the lipstick mark on Jack's face, holding his chin towards her to wipe it off.

They get out, getting guided to their table as they wait for the last few to arrive.
