Captain Swan Fly Away

Summer

Emma has a new routine, to help her sister recover, and take care of her nephew and her two children. Ashley has been coming over to visit to bring food and help out when she can. Allison has been slowly getting better everyday. Henry and Connor were playing in Henry's bedroom. Henry has been becoming such a great big help with the babies when she was taking care of Allison. "Hi, Henry. How is it going in here?"
"Connor woke me up early. We are just playing with trucks."
"Em-em!" Connor goes to his auntie Emma.
She holds her nephew. "Hi, Connor. Are you having fun with Henry?"
"Wy-wy!!"
"I will take that as a yes."
"Mama." Connor reaches out for his Mama.
"Hi, baby boy." Allison takes Connor from her sister and hugs him.
"Em-em Wy-wy."
"You are talking with Auntie Emma and Henry?"
"Yes."
"How are you feeling?"
"I am in less pain. You are taking good care of me, little sis."
"I hate seeing my sister in pain and suffering."
"I have the best little sis helping me." Connor babbles. "You are happy to play with your cousins all day!!" She tickles her son making him laugh.
"How about we go out today?"
"I do need a break from the house. We can get breakfast and maybe take them to the park to the sprinklers."
"Aunt Allison, that is a great idea!" Henry goes to his room to get ready for a fun day at the park wearing a rash guard shirt and bathing suit.
"That is a perfect idea." The sister got their children ready for the day at the park. Emma packed a cooler full of snacks, water, toys for the water, a first aid kit,suntan lotion, and extra clothes for the children to change out of. She got Hope dressed in a pink Minnie Mouse bathing suit and swim diaper over a summer dress. "Mommy."
"We are going to the park to get wet in the sprinklers."
Henry enters his sister's bedroom,"Mom, I am ready!"
"You are ready, kid. We are almost ready to go out."
"Can I help?"
"You can help me carry the diaper bag, I have your sister and the cooler."
"I can carry both."
"Are you sure? The cooler is heavy."
"I can carry both."
"Okay." Henry carried the diaper bag and drag the cooler to the yellow bug where Connor and Allison were in. Emma was smiling her son wanted to help and show his strength for a 6-year-old. "You can put the cooler in the trunk, Henry."
"Yes, Mom."
"Good job, my strong son." Henry smiles and sits in the back with the babies. Emma puts Hope in her car seat.
"Wy-wy!"
"Connor, Hope, I am here!" Both babies babble making their Moms smile. Allison puts the diaper bags in the back with the toddlers. After breakfast at the closest diner, Emma drove them to a big park with sprinklers. The two sisters chose a bench underneath a tree in between the sprinklers and playground. Emma puts suntan lotion on both of her children. "Mom."
"I do not want you or Hope to get sunburn." Henry went into the sprinklers after waiting a few minutes, followed by Allison with Connor. He followed his older cousin right into getting wet. Connor clapped his hands. Allison took pictures of her son in sprinklers for the first time on her iPhone. "Little cuz copy me." Henry jumped creating a little wave. Connor jump, he followed Henry getting wet in the sprinkles. "Henry, not too fast, Connor is not big as you yet."
"Yes, Aunt Allison." He spun around, Connor copied him.
Emma held Hope's hand helping Hope walk to the sprinklers. "Allison, Henry is showing Connor how to play in the sprinklers."
"Yes, he is showing him."
Hope wasn't sure of the sprinklers. "Hope, it is water." She stepped in to show her daughter and kneeled down to her. "You do not have to go all the way in."
"Mommy!" Emma held Hope on her hip and stood where sprinklers were not heavy. Hope smiles. "Yes, we are getting wet." She went in a little deeper, Hope began whimpering and she stepped back where they were before. "You like getting wet a little bit, little duckling."
"Yes." Emma smiles hearing Hope's new word. She was enjoying her time getting wet in the sprinklers with her daughter.
Allison takes a picture of Emma and Hope getting wet. "Hope, are you enjoying getting wet?" Hope babbles.
"It is refreshing. Hope is afraid of going in deeper. She just likes being here."
"Maybe she will get used to the water, a little later."
"She likes bath time."
"Maybe she is not used to the shower just yet."
"True." Connor comes over to his Mommy and hugs her.
"Connor!" Allison holds her son. "You got me all wet! Little sneak." She kisses him on the cheek.
Henry approaches his Mom and Aunt. "Did you and Aunt Allison coordinate Hope and Connor's bathing suits? They are both Mickey and Minnie." Emma and Allison both laughed.
Killian was waiting for his next flight back to New York from Texas. He got texts messages from Emma with pictures of Henry, Hope, and Connor having fun at the park's sprinklers. He knew his family was having a fun summer day. When he was greeting passengers onto the plane, he sees Ted, his soon to be ex-brother inlaw. "Ted."
"Killian? I am on your flight."
"Aye, yes you are. Come in here." He leads him to the pilot's area. "Why the bloody hell you cheated on your wife? You ruined your family! You hurt your wife and son."
"I just was not happy. I know I did not want a family anymore."
"You hurt Allison, more than you can ever imagine."
"She has Connor. She is not alone."
"You have no bloody idea what happened after you left did you?"
"No. What happened?"
Killian thought about it, it was not for him to say about Allison's miscarriage.'"What do you care you cheated on your amazing wife and left..."
"She kicked me out."
"She has a right to after her husband cheating on her in her bedroom."
"I did not want that life anymore."
There was a knock on the door. "Killian?"
Killian opens the door, "Go, ted. To your seat." ted leaves.
Ashley sees Ted. "Ted is on our flight?"
"Aye, yes. I screamed at him for leaving his family."
"After what Allison has gone through lately, I am surprised you did not punch him."
"I cannot since I am working. Emma did punch him in the jaw."
"Wow, Emma is strong."
"Aye, my swan is strong. She was there when Ted was moving out."
"How is Allison?"
"She is getting better every day. She and Emma are in the park in the sprinklers with the kids." Ashley continued her job. Killian made a phone call.
Emma was playing with Hope in the baby area of the playground going up and down the slide, and walking on the bridge. "Yay!" Connor and Henry were still in the sprinklers. Emma got a phone call from Killian. "Hi, honey."
"Hi, Emma."
"What is wrong?"
"Is Allison nearby you?"
"No, she is by the sprinklers with the boys, I am in the playground with Hope."
"Good, I need to tell you something before I fly back to New York."
Emma sat ont the little steps. "What is it?"
"There is no easy way of saying this, Ted is on my flight."
"What?"
"Aye, I took him in my captain quarters, I gave him an angry lecture of how he hurt Allison and Connor. He just does not want a family anymore."
Emma sighs. "Did you tell him about the?"
"No, I did not say. It was not my place."
"I do not think Allison wants him to know."
"Dada."
"Dada is on the phone." She puts him on speaker.
"Dada."
"Hi, Hope!" Hope babbles. "You are at the park and playing with Mommy."
"Yes!"
Killian smiles big Hope's new word. "That is brilliant, little love. Did you go in the sprinklers?"
"Yes."
"Are you playing on the playground?"
"Yes." Emma and Killian both smile at their daughter saying her new word. Emma knew Killian was smiling on the other end.
"Little love, tell Mommy Dda will be home soon. You can tell me all about your day."
"Yes, Dada."
"Killian, travel safe and do not use your anger on that person."
"Yes, love. I will be home this evening." The phone conversation ended.
Hope began crying. Emma holds Hope and sees the ice cream truck. "Hope, do you want ice cream?" Hope was in tears. "Let's go get ice cream." Emma carried Hope to Allison and the boys. "Allison, do you want to get ice cream?"
"Yes!"
"Henry, we are getting ice cream!"
"Yes!"
"Yes!" Hope clapped her hands. Henry and Allison smile at Hope at her new word. They went to get ice cream at the ice cream truck. Henry chose a spiderman ice cream pop. Emma got a plain chocolate swirl on a cone and Allison got vanilla on a cone. They went to their spit and ate their ice cream. She shared her ice cream with her daughter as Allison shared with her son. "How is your spiderman ice cream?"
"It is so good! The eyes are gumballs."
"I love the tweety bird ice cream pop. They are blue gumballs."
"Awesome. I have to try that next." She hugs her son and made sure Hope was eating the ice cream and has some more of her ice cream. "Are you having fun?"
"Yes, I am. I love the sprinklers."
Killian comes home from work, Henry, Hope, and Connor run to him. "Dada!!" Hope hugs her daddy. He holds Hope on his hip.
"Dad!" Henry hugs his Dad.
"Hi, Hope, Hi Henry." Emma comes down hearing the kids greeting Killian. He walks in the house holding Hope.
"Dada!"
"Hi, Connor." Connor hugs Killian's legs. Killian and Emma looked at each other, hearing their nephew calling him Dada. "Did you have fun today at the park?" Hope and Connor both babble to Killian. "Dad, let me translate. The park was so much fun! We spend the whole day in the park at the sprinklers. Aunt Allison got us ice cream at the ice cream truck. I got a spiderman ice cream."
"That is awesome, lad."
"Dada!" Connor was gripping his leg.
Killian holds Connor who hugs him. He knew he was going to be Connor's father figure, which he did not mind at all. "Did you have a fun day?" Connor babbles. "You had fun in the sprinklers today." Connor babbles.
"Killian, we ordered in Chinese for dinner. I have your favorite."
"Beef and broccoli?"
"Yes."
"Dada."
"Yes, little love?" He kisses Hope on the cheek. Hope kisses her daddy on the cheek making her parents awe.
Allison arrives downstairs. "Hi, Killian. How was your day?
"It was good."
Allison takes her son from her brother-in-law. "Dada!" She was surprised her son called Killian Daddy. Allison was in tears hugging her son.
Killian sees the hurt of Allison her son calling him dad not Ted, who is not in his life anymore. "He can call me Dad, Allison. I can be his father figure. After all, I am his favorite uncle. Am I your favorite uncle, Connor?"
"Yes!"
"When he gets bigger Connor can call you Uncle Killian?"
"He can call me Killy when he is bigger."
After the kids were in bed they were all tired out from a day at the park, Emma and Allison were downstairs sipping cinnamon hot cocoa. Killian was upstairs taking a shower. "Emma, Connor calling Killian,Dad..."
"Allison, he is only 1 year old. He can say only a few words. He hears Henry and Hope calling Killian, dad. Killian knows that. He thinks of Connor as another son and to be a role model to him."
"He is a great role model for Connor. Killian was a better father to my son before Hope was born. I had a feeling he was going to be there for my son...now Ted left and doesn't want to be in his son's life." Allison began crying.
Emma hugs sister. "You are not alone. You have Killian, Hope, Henry, Dad, Mom and me who love you and Connor so much. We are your family. You have us to lean on." Hope was crying in her room. KIllian enters her room, seeing his little lass standing up and holding the rail. "Hi, little love." He holds Hope and kisses her on the head. "Why are you crying?" She makes a lot of poop seeping through her pajamas onto him. "I just took a shower." Hope cries more. Emam rushes upstairs. "What is going on up here?"
"Mommy."
Emma holds her daughter,her husband had a rough day. "Killian, I can change Hope."
Killian faces his little lass. "Dada is not mad at you, Hope. Dada loves you so much." He kisses his daughter on the head. Hope was still crying when Emma was cleaning her up and changed her outfit. "Little duckling." She sits on the rocking chair and snuggles with her daughter. Henry enters the room. "Did Hope wake you up?"
"Yes. Is she okay?"
"I think so. She just had a poop explosion. Dad had a rough day at work. He is not mad." She puts Hope back in her crib who was fast asleep.
"I thought something was wrong."
Emma hugs her son. "He is going to be okay."
"Mom?"
"Yes?"
Henry hugs his Mom. "I love you, Mom."
"I love you, Henry. You need to go back to bed." Emma followed him to his bedroom and tucks him in. "Night, Henry."
"Night Mom." He kisses his Mom on the cheek.
"I love you, Henry." She kisses him on the head and returns downstairs to the living room to her sister. "I was thinking?"
"What?"
"We need to go to the beach."
"Yes!"
"We can go on Saturday when Killian is off. He loves the ocean. This will be Hope and Henry's first time going to the beach."
"They are going to love it."
Emma and Killian were snuggling in bed. "How is Allison?"
"She is in less pain now which is good from the miscarriage. She is still sad about Ted. When Connor called you Dad, I told her that you are his uncle but his role model."
"Aye, I know how it feels when your dad is gone. I love Connor. I can be his Dad figure if Ted is not in his life."
"I am happy you did not punch Ted in the face."
"I would have been fired. Besides, I knew you punched him in the face when you went to Allison's house. My strong wife.."
Emma smiles. "I was furious. I was defending my sister."
"Aye, as you should. I am off on Saturday. What do you want to do?"
"Since you mention the weekend?"
Killian smile knowing the sound of his wife's voice, she has an idea. "What does my swan want to do?"
"On Saturday, we can have a family day at the beach?"
Killian smiles. "Aye, I do love being at the beach. We are going!"
"Yay!" Emma hugs Killian who was smiling. They kiss.
