Captain Swan Fly Away

Beach Day

Emma and Killian were getting ready for a family beach day. Allison was on the phone, "That is great. I will sign the forms today, before I return to work next week...Thank you." She gets off the phone.
"Al, that sounds like good news?"
Allison smiles."Yes, my hospital is adding a daycare in the hospital for the staff."
"That is amazing."
"Yes! He can be in daycare while I am at work. I have to go check the daycare out and fill out forms."
"Do you want me to drive you there?"
"Yes. I want to see the daycare for myself and Connor can see it with us."
Emma goes to her husband. "Killian, I am going to take Allison to Long Island Jewish hospital, she wants to check out the new daycare they are opening up."
"That is great for her and Connor."
"Yes, she won't be too far from her son when she is working."
"Aye, that is good timing considering Ted..."
"Exactly. We can the beach later?"
"Yes, it is too hot now. I will stay home with Henry and Hope." Emma gets ready for the day.
"You look, beautiful love."
"Thank you, captain." They kiss. They hear Hope crying. "Emma, go with your sister and Connor. I got our Hope." They kiss.
Emma drives her yellow bug with her sister and nephew to the hospital. Allison carried her son to the new daycare area on the main floor, a worker, name Jessica, gave Allison and Emma a tour of the new daycare. "Connor, you are going to have fun here." The worker explained how toddlers will make new friends and socialize. Emma likes the daycare. After the tour, Emma was watching Connor in the hallway as Allison was filling out forms.
"Cameron!"
"Hello?"
"Allison, it is me, Eric."
"I am not Allison."
Allison rushes to see Eric. "Eric!"
"Allison!" They hug.
"Mama."
Allison holds her son on her hip. "Connor say hi, to Mommy's friend. Eric, this is my son Connor."
Eric smiled at the toddler."Hi, Connor."He gave his old friend a confused face. "There are two of you?"
"Eric, this is my long-lost sister Emma. Emma, this is my former co-worker, Eric Foreman. We were on House's team together."
"Hi, Eric. You both worked for the man I punched in the face."
"Punched in the face?"
"Long story, when I met Emma, I found out I was adopted. We went to Italy to meet our biological mother. While we were touring around, House found Emma and me."
"Wait...Gregory House?! He is alive!!"
"He fakes his death."
"Of all things he has done, this is the most craziest bizarre stunt he has ever done."
"Yes, our cases with him, were surprising and insane all at once. But faking his death was the worse thing he has ever done."
Eric looks at Emma. "Emma, you really punched House?"
"Yes, I did. He was being a -double ass to my sister."
"What are you doing in New York?"
"I am attending a conference here. How about you?"
"I work here. I am a pediatrician and an emergency room doctor. I am signing up my son for daycare. Where are you working now?"
"I am the head of medicine..."
"Em-Em."
Emma takes Connor from her sister. "Little man, mama is catching up with an old friend."
"You took over for Cuddy?"
"Yes, I did."
"I am not surprised."
"How did you meet your sister? She looks exactly like you."
"We met in the recovery room when I just gave birth to my son. Emma was my roommate she was having a cerclage procedure done. We just became fast friends. After I delivered my goddaughter, Emma's daughter Hope at home an unplanned home birth. My mom came to New York and told me I was adopted. She knew about Emma. She kept it a secret from me. I stopped talking to her and my Dad. Also, I am in the middle of a divorce, again. I caught my husband sleeping in bed with his secretary"
"I am so sorry, Allison."
"It is okay, I always felt out of place in my family. I stay in touch with my brother John. Emma and her family is my real family."
"We need to catch up."
"Yes."
"I have to go to my conference."
"It was nice seeing you, Foreman."
"Nice seeing you again Allison. Emma. It was nice to meet you."
"It was nice meeting you, Eric."Eric leaves. "He was a close friend?"
Allison holds Connor and they began walking to the parking lot. "Close enough. I was his guardian when he was close to dying. We got close friends after that than colleagues." Emma drove her sister and nephew home.
Killian and Henry got ready for the beach. Henry was playing with Hope wearing their bathing suits when their mom came home. "Mom, we are going to the beach?"
"Yes, we are, Henry. I have to go get dressed." Emma gets dressed for the beach.
Killian enters his room and hugs his swan. "How was Hope when I was with Allison?"
"She got upset when you left. Henry got her excited for the beach and played with her."
"I was thinking?"
"About what?"
"About going back to work?"
"You want to fly with me again?"
"Yes, I do miss it. Henry will in school soon."
"What about Hope?"
Emma sighs. "If there is a daycare at the airport, I can work in the airport, so I can be close to her and pick up Henry from school. What do you think?"
"Are you sure, Emma? You wanted to be a full-time Mom to Hope and nowHenry, which I support."
"I saw the daycare at Allison's hospital. The daycare worker explained about how toddlers can make friends and socialize. I got thinking of Hope. Now, I do not know... Henry is still getting to know us, and a new school will be starting for him soon. He does not like school. I want to be there for Hope and Henry."
"Hope knows Connor and Henry. Hope gets enough interaction. Both of our ducklings need their Mommy now. Maybe, this is not the right time for you to return to work."
"I think you are right. That is why I was just thinking about it Henry is going to have a tour of St.Anne's next week. He is going to be scared."
"Aye, that is why his Mom is going to be there with him."
"That is right. Maybe, when Hope gets a little older, I can return to work with you. I miss flying with my favorite captain."
Killian smiles. "Aye, that sounds like a plan. I do miss my favorite flight attendant." They kiss.
"Let's go to the beach captain."
The family rode to Riis beach together. Emma and Henry set up the beach chairs. Killian was setting up the umbrella. Allison set up the tent for the babies to go in when it is too hot out. Hope and Connor were crying. Emma puts Hope and Connor in their beach chairs, and they stopped crying. "Hope, we are at the beach, baby girl. You are going to go swimming in the ocean, today."
"We can also build sandcastles, little sis."
"I do not think she likes the sand yet, kid. We will try later. You can help me set up the tent." Emma and Henry set up the tent. "Wy-wy. Mommy."
She holds her daughter. "Do you want to go inside the tent?" She kisses her on the head and sets Hope in the tent. Hope babbles. She takes a picture of her daughter enjoying the tent.
"Em-em!"
"Hi, little man. Do you want to join Hope inside the tent?" Connor babbles. "Yes." She set Connor in the tent. Connor and Hope babble. She takes a picture of the two babies. "Allison, I think they like the tent."
Allison smiles at the babies. "They like staying in the shade."
"Henry, how about we go for a swim?"
"I think, I will stay here."
Killian faces his son. "We do not have to go deep son." He holds Henry's hand.
"Okay." they went to the ocean and put their feet in. "Wow, the ocean is so cold."
"The longer we stay in the water will be warmer, son." Henry was looking at the ocean. "Is this your first time in the ocean?"
"Maybe."
"Are you afraid?"
"I do not know how to swim, Dad."
"It is okay, son. We do not have to go too far." He looks at the lifeguards. "The man and woman sitting on the tall chairs, those are lifeguards. Their job is to save people if they are drowning in the deep end of getting caught by the waves in rough weather."
"So they save people?"
"Yes, son. We can go deeper if you want."
Henry gripped his Dad's hand. "Only if you are with me."
"Aye, I am going to be with you son. I am not going to let you go, Henry." Henry hugs his Dad. They enter the ocean. Emma smiles at their spot her husband and son having bonding time, Killian being a great father. "Mommy. Wy-wy. Dada."
"You want to go in the ocean?" She holds Hope up in the air, "yes, you do." Hope babbles. She carried her daughter to the ocean. Hope reaches out to the ocean. They went into a little deeper. The waves ht against them. Hope was laughing. "You like the ocean, little duckling. Just like when you were growing inside of my belly." She kisses Hope on the cheek.
Killian holds Henry and goes to his two loves. "Hope, you are enjoying the water?" Hope babbles.
"Henry, are you enjoying the water?"
"No."
"Swan, our son cannot swim, yet but you will, son."
"We need to sign you up for swimming lessons." Hope babbles. "You need swimming lessons too, bab girl." Allison took pictures of her sister and her family in the ocean.
Emma and Killian were enjoying getting cooled off and holding onto their children, who were enjoying the ocean. Hope was laughing nonstop. Henry was a little bit afraid but his Dad was holding him which he felt safe in.
Allison carried her son into the ocean. "Emma, I can see Hope is enjoying the ocean."
"Yes, she loves the water. Just like when she was in my belly." Connor babbles. "Connor, are you enjoying the ocean?" Connor screams.
"Are you screaming cold?" She kisses her son on the head. They played in the ocean. The babies did not like the sand. Henry went back to the sand which his Dad. "How about we build a sandcastle?"
"Yes!" Luckily, they packed a large bag of buckets, plastic crabs, and shovels to play n the sand. Since the babies don't like the sand, Henry can use them. Killian taught his son how to but wet sand and regular sand into buckets. He let his son lead the way into making the sandcastle. They went looking for shells around the beach to add to the castle. Emma was smiling seeing her two boys getting along. When the babies were getting tired, the two sisters brought them to their spot. "Whoa! I see a big castle!"
"It is a sandcastle Mom, dad, and I have been building it."
"It looks great, kid."
"It looks so cool, Henry."
"Thank you, Mom and Aunt Allison. Dad has been reminding me to put on sunblock."
"Kid, we do not want you to get sunburn."
"Sunburn is really painful. I have seen a lot of patients with sunburn, it is awful." Emma takes pictures of her two boys with their sandcastle. Hope and Connor began crying. "Are you two ready for a snack? Henry, are you hungry?"
"I am.
"Swan, I packed go-gurt in the cooler for the lad. Also, sandwiches and cold fruit."
"Great. It is hot out here." They gave the babies cold blueberries and yogurt. Henry had a peanut butter sandwich, with a banana on the side. After everyone ate, Killian and Henry continued building their sandcastle, by adding a moat. Hope was passed out on her Mommy covered in a towel in the shade. Allison had her sleeping son on her. "They are passed out."
"Yes, they are. The beach tired them out."
"Are you excited to go back to work?"
"Yes. I do miss work. I am happy that I get to bring Connor with me. He will be nearby so I can see him anytime I want."
"If you need help, you can always call us to help you."
"I am so grateful to have my little sis nearby. Emma, you have been there for me, lately. With Ted, and the miscarriage. Thank you."
"You are welcome. You are my big sis after all." They hug. "We are going to have sleepovers still."
"Of course, we will."
When the babies woke up from their nap, Killian took Hope into the ocean, Connor stayed in the tent. Emma helped Henry with his sandcastle. "Mom, can we come back to the beach?"
"Yes, we can. It is still summer, kid. If you want to, we can come back next week."
"Yes!"
"I will find you a local swimming lesson place for you to learn. Once, you learn how to swim, you will be swimming in the ocean with us."
"Can we go in?"
"Yes." Emma walked with her son and held his hand in the ocean. "You are staying with me, kid." Henry hugs his Mom who held his held when they were in the ocean.
"Mommy!"
"Hi, Hope! Are you enjoying the ocean?" Hope screams making her Mommy laugh.
"Our little love loves the ocean just like me." He spun her around.
"I remember last year when she was inside of me. I have a feeling she will love the ocean."
"Mom, you came here last year?"
"Yes. When Connor was very little when I was very pregnant with your sister. She was kicking around knowing I was in the ocean." She hugs her son. "Now, I have two children."
"Aye, we are a family of four." They kiss. They continue enjoying their family time and Killian's day off at the beach with their children.
