The next morning jo woke up in her bed for the first time after a couple of days, thanks god the night before her dad wasn't home. she got dressed, she washed her face and when she looked at herself in the mirror she saw the cut on her nose, i had worst on my face. she walked out the bathroom and went to the kitchen where her father was drink a beer at morning.
"oh, the bitch is back" he commented and then he looked at her carefully "what happened to your nose?" he asked like he cared
"nothing, just got into a little fight"
"you got into a fight?" he asked walking towards her menacingly "you know what happen if the police finds that you got into a fight?" he didn't stop walking causing her to take some steps back and hit the wall with her back "you are gonna get arrested and I am gonna pay" he said placing a hand around her throat, her feet stopped touching the ground as he tried to choke her
"i'm sorry" she tried to say and he let her go
"you are a waste of air" he said placing a fist on her face "you are a waste of time" another fist "i wish you walked away with your mother" and another "you made me bankrupt" then a kick on her leg. jo fell on the ground and almost stopped breathing when her father decided that he had enough and walked out of the house.
jo stood up crying when someone entered the kitchen "what happened?" her older brother Philip asked rushing to her
"nothing, lip"
"ian take the emergency kit and come here, now!" lip yelled to their younger brother and the redhead 15-year-old boy ran to them asking what happened with worry in his voice
"nothing, i'm fine" jo answered shoving the two brothers away
"jo, come on!" lip insisted as jo walked to grab her pack
"i'm fine, lip. go to the grocery, i don't know when i'll come back" she said taking her phone from the counter and then she kissed the two boys' cheeks "debbie, carl, i'm going out. i love you!" she yelled so her siblings could hear her
"love you too" the two yelled back
"i hate when you do like this" lip said making her turn around
she had a smile on her face but they could see it was a sad smile "i know, but remember that i raised you" and with that walked out of the house to go to the chateau.
