chapter thirty-nine "did you pimp my short board?"

The next morning it was finally the first they of school, kie drove jj, pope and jo there.
"hey, chill out" kie stated when she saw jj drinking more alcool from his flask
"if i black out, just don't remind me" he said as he closed the door
"that's not funny" kie stated, jo was walking next to her, on jo's right side there was jj and on kie's left side there was pope
"it's them"
"there they are"
"i wasn't sure they'd show up"
"heard they got arrested"
the four stood up in front of something that looked like a memorial for john b, photos of him and memories of him all around a rock with a little surf board
"i feel like people are staring at us" kie said
jo looked around "'cause they are"
"guys, i can't be late" pope said as he began to walk away
"hey, hey" kie stopped him "we gotta stick together" she said and handed out her hand as pope intertwined their fingers. kie grabbed jo's hand as they began to walk
"stick together. yeah" jj mumbled as he passed next to jo who grabbed him by his left arm and forced him to walk with them. she knew madness was filling jj's body but she didn't know how to help him, also because she knew a part of that madness was because of her.

the first class passedand jo went to the bathroom. she walked next to the boy's bathroom door and a hand grabbed her wrist.
some lips landed on hers, kissing her like it was the most beautiful thing in the world. she noticed it was jj and for a moment she melt into that kiss until memories of that night appeared in her mind and a tear fall down her cheek as she pushed him gently.
"jj" she cried out as he began to kiss her neck "jj, this is wrong" but he didn't stop "jj. jj, please. please, stop"
he stopped and looked at her as she shook her head "this is wrong. you hurt me"
"i hurt you?!" he was shocked when he heard her words "did i break up with you or did you break up with me?!"
"i was tired of fighting! i was tired of all those things that you told me!"
jj scoffed and someone entered the bathroom "jesus, why there's a girl in here?" the boy said
