Suddenly everything came back, all the pain, the headache, the vomit. the floating feeling disappeared as jo woke up in the hospital with a huge headache and a drip in her right arm, she groaned as she woke up making lip look at her
"hey, how do you feel?" he whispered
she groaned again due the headache and her brother's voice "like throwing up. what happened?"
lip's face hardened, he was upset and worried at the same time "you fucking overdosed"
"good" she joked, chuckling
"no shit, this is not good. why?" lip asked raising his voice
"i-"
"are you addicted?" he almost yelled
"don't yell. did you tell anyone?" she asked placing a hand over her forehead
"just ian. are you addicted?" her repeated lowering his voice
"i-can we go out of here and talk about it in the car?" she asked making him sigh heavily. lip called the doctor who let jo go home.
the two hughes older siblings entered the car and lip started the engine as he asked again "are you addicted?"
"i-i think i do" she whispered as she started crying "it's just...i want to stop but i can't, i physically can't. i tried. it's just that sometimes i feel like my life is on the rails and i can't do anything about it"
"you need to come back home. you need help" lip stated
"i can handle myself" she said
"apparently not"
lip pulled in front of their house and they both hopped down "look mom doesn't want me here and i have important things to do with my friends"
"like what? smoking weed, have sex and go to bonfires?" he yelled
"since when are you the one that takes care of me?!" she yelled back
"i've always-"
"no! you never did! i took care of you! all of you! letting our father beat the shit out of me! doing thousand of jobs! putting my education after yours!" she yelled as tears fell down her cheeks
"so, now it's my turn" he stated
"i don't want you help! take all the pills, do whatever you want but i'm not coming home" she stated
"jo!" liam screamed running to his older sister
"hey baby" she said as she hugged him then debbie, ian and carl hugged her too
