chapter twenty-five "i'm completely and utterly fine"

Once jo calmed down everyone started doing what they were supposed to do that morning. sarah and jo were now peering over kie's shoulder trying to make sense of the poor illustration in her hands
"he said it looked something like this" kie said "that's 50 feet down, and they are using a 100-feet rope. so i hire this little wagon will go..." jo and sarah laughed because it was hard to understand the draw "staring to the gold room?"
"who drew this?" sarah asked laughing
"who do you think?" kie giggled, turning to make eye contact with pope who was with john b
"kie! this better work" jj walked over and dropped the gold at the girl's feet "we can't pawn this if there's a giant wheat symbol on it"
kie picked up the blowtorch "it's gonna work"
the teens set down looking at kie as she melt down the gold, jo was set between jj's legs as he played with her hair "are you okay?" he whispered in her ear
"i'm fine" she whispered back, he moved her hair from her shoulder and kissed her exposed skin making her slightly moan, luckily no one heard her.

"hellof a job melting it down, dr. frankenstein" jj quipped as the group exited the van in front of the shop, jo cringed looking down at the botched form of the gold in jj's hands
"like you could have done better" kie snapped
"yes, he could have" jo stated and looked at her smiling
"thank you, cupcake. i took a welding class" jj and kiara were about to argue but john b shushed them "chill out, okay?"
jj rolled his eyes "easy for you to say. you're not the one that has to pawn this piece of shit off. how did i get this job anyway?"
the group followed jj inside "'cause you are the best liar" pope said
"afternoon, ma'am" jj politely greeted, he was supposed to talk to the woman alone as the others just watched him but he took jo's hand and took her with him, she just looked shocked for a second but then she let him throw her with him.
"afternoon"
the blonde nodded to the sign "i see you buy gold"
"that's what the sign say, don't it?"
"well, i sure hope you buy a lot of it, because i'm about to blow your mind"
