Expect It

It's gonna hurt when you fall,
I'm not going to lie.
And you might sometimes feel so small,
And you are going to cry.

People will try and put you down,
For who you are and what you do.
And it's okay to frown,
But try to let your smile shine through.

Expect judgmental stares,
And the need to vent.
And little heart tears,
Will be present.

It's doesn't matter where you go,
Or what you do,
Not everyone's going to like you.

People will be disappointed in you,
And there will be nothing you can do.
And some people will disappoint you,
Just push through.

There will be expectations that you can't reach,
You're not perfect.
Don't try to achieve them each,
Just the ones that are worth it.

Some people are really fake,
They'll get close to you,
Just to see you break,
I've survived them, you can too.

Life is not going to be all fluff,
I can't tell you exactly what to do,
In reality life is really tough,
But hey, so are you.
