Alive or Dead

"You're fat"
That's what her brother said,
When at the dinner table,
Spitting out the thoughts in his head.

But of course they were true,
Why wouldn't they be?
He was just pointing out,
What she failed to see.

Then she realized,
Something needed to be done,
And her confidence,
Went from high to none.

She didn't wait,
For it needed to be fast,
And her only inspiration,
Was her past.

She skipped a few meals,
Her inspiration was meek,
Who am I kidding?
She starved for a week.

But one day it was too much,
She collapsed on the floor,
Then they rushed her through,
The hospital doors.

They tried to save her,
They really did,
But their attempts didn't work,
On the unconscious kid.

"It was a devastating event",
That's what her parents said,
Little did they know,
She was long ago dead.

Her brother just smiled,
All full of glee,
And then just laughed and said,
"At least she's finally skinny like me."

And that's all she wanted,
When Ana did arrive,
She wanted his approval,
Either dead or alive.
