Seeing the Unseen

You know I had a dream once,
Pathetic it may have been,
But it was something,
Compared to my now nothing.

I wanted to be a astronaut,
Fly into space,
Into the unknown,
An undiscovered place.

I wanted to be in a rocket ship,
And go past the moon,
Way past Mars,
I literally wanted to touch the stars.

You don't have to tell me,
I know it's was stupid,
But that's the thing,
It was stupidly amazing.

When I was a kid,
I wasn't afraid of the unseen,
But then I turned into the typical,
Depressed girl teen.

That's what's wrong with the adults,
Why our society is so screwed up,
They are smart, I agree,
But they can't seem to look past what they see.
