The Black Room

I stand there in the room,
The black room I stay,
Because I know hurt is out there,
If I ever dare to stray.

It's dark walls lull me to bed,
A soothing familiar voice,
But I can never turn it off,
For I have no choice.

I don't mind though.
The emptiness of it all,
Means no surprises,
Lurking inside the walls.
